Anyone know the steps to fully turn off mouse support on an iPad. Mine was working fine until I tried to use the same BT mouse with another device (MBA). I did get my MS Surface mouse to work with the MBA, but then it failed to work with my iPad Pro (10.5"). Now the MS Surface will not pair with my iPad.

However even though the Surface will not pair with the iPad, I still see the greyed out "pointer" button on my iPad which I want to disappear. Rebooting doesn't remove it. I find it annoy to see and would like it GONE.

I’m not on iPadOS yet, but can’t you upair and forget the Bluetooth mouse from the accessibility section of settings app?

And on related note why on earth doesn’t Apple make the mouse pointer auto hide when not connected! In fact why can’t it just auto hide after an adjustable set time of inactivity.

No, I can't because my BT mouse doesn't appear on my iPad running 13.1.1. Once again, my BT mouse worked fine with my iPad Pro 11.5" 2 days ago. I have NO other device open that uses this mouse.

It's not a big thing if I can't get it to work again since my iPad(s) have never before paired with a BT mouse. I would like to get the grayed out mouse pointer off the screen though. I'm thinking of doing a restore in hopes that it will make the BT mouse pointer go away forever.

Go to Settings - Accessibility - Touch - AssistiveTouch and turn it off. You can turn it on when you need a mouse and off when you don't.

THANK YOU! Such a simple solution. I do like the mouse support for my iPad, but after a brief successfull period, it no longer works with mouse (MS Surface Mouse). It refuses to pair with my iPad. The last time I tried it a couple of days ago, it did pair with my MBA. After that, it refuses to pair with my iPad Pro 11.5".

I'm thinking of getting a pencil, but wonder if I would have the same pairing problem with my iPad Pro?
