yeah, but a new iphone buyer is either coming from android that has a usb-c connection brick (fast-charging no doubt), or are buying a smartphone for the first time ever in their life (which would be a minority of buyers and so not a big deal for Apple to piss them off potentially by making them buy a charger extra).

In both cases, it doesn't seem like a big deal to not include a 5w charging brick (*unless I'm missing something in the argument).

No argument really. I just look at it the other way. it doesn't seem like a big deal to me to INCLUDE a 5W charger.

Or no lightning headphones or adapter. Extra cost added to reported increased pricing.

I’m on a 6s and need to buy new headphones or adapter for my next phone.

I really think store credit is the way to go for supported regions. Maybe $30 to buy the accessory you need. It won’t cover everything but most don’t need both headphones and power bricks every time.

It’s interesting when people start pointing the finger at Apple for ‘taking away accessories’ and ‘Tim Crook is cheap’ sophomoric remarks. Ok? Well if that’s your argument, Apple reduced the price for the iPhone 11 by $50 dollars compared to the XR that was actually more expensive. But I get it, it’s really easy to point the finger at Apple With all the negative rhetoric on forum sites like this.

I agree with this. I mean the cost of everything increases incrementally over time anyway.

Another thing to consider is that they’re rumoring the phones to have 128 gigs as a starting point (at least I THINK I read that - goodness knows I hope I’m not spewing misinformation). Wouldn’t that account for a slight increase in the price? I’m not saying it’s reasonable or not, just that it COULD be part of why it’s starting a little higher.

You completely forget Apple increased the price from the 8 to the xr by 50$? And the 7 to the 8 by 50$? People got sick of that yearly price increase bs and it cost Apple sales so they lowered the price back. If anything that proves the initial price increase of the xr was a rip-off.

The cost of storage goes down yearly. I doubt Apple would be paying more for that storage in reality.

And many don't give a poop about another charging brick or wired earbuds.
Many care about a way faster charging brick that had never been included with any other iPhone .
