I am really happy with my 12 PM. Wasn’t expecting it to be a big deal coming from 11 PM, but 12 PM is just the whole package. Feel/design, screen (not super noticeable, but I find myself really enjoying it), camera, responsiveness... its a very good phone and I'm quite satisfied with it.

I was genuinely pleased with using the regular iPhone 12 for a few weeks prior to the 12PM arriving and started to think seriously about skipping the Max. But once I got it, I knew this was going to be a keeper. The whole experience of this 6.7” screen and the new design just impressed. This was a welcome change of direction.

At first I thought it felt too big and heavy, but surprisingly I got used to it within a few days and now I love it. The huge display looks great and is great for media consumption :)

Wow this battery is a beast! 12 Max w/moderate usage: 62% at 1030pm. Started my day at 830am.

I currently switched from iPhone XS Max to the 12 PM. Unfortunatelly I have display issues with yellow tint and blacks flickering in lower brightness. I am iPhone User since day one.
I like the look and feel of the 12PM and it's one of the best iPhone I had, also like the overall Performance, but with that display issues I can't keep it. :( I really like the bigger screen update.
So hopefully Apple will fix it.

One con for me is also the camera. Imho it's defintely overhyped. I did some comparison at home with the Z fold 2 and XS Max. Low light and night shots were better on the z fold 2 (more details). Day shots were almost the same, sometimes better on iPhone sometimes better on fold 2. Surprisingly sometimes better on XS Max.
Videos are amazing on the 12 PM. No competition here. ;) I think they will optimize the camera with further updates.
But for now, the 12 PM is back in the box and I am using my XS Max again.

Over the years I've gotten so used to having a white display, I just can't get used to this phone with its yellow screen. It's going back. I'll keep my white screen 11 Pro Max for now and use that $1,000+ for something else.

If you don't mind turning off True Tone it goes away. That's what I did.

Here’s mine. A little yellow?
Mine was so dim and yellow out of the box. Even on 100% brightness it was so dim I could barely see the display. I thought I was going to have to return it. But a reboot fixed the dimness and and turning off true tone fixed the yellowness. It's still warmer than my 8 plus, but it was crazy yellow before. Now to me the 12 pro max looks normal & my 8 plus looks blue.

I loved the size of the 12pro, but returned it because I was not thrilled with the battery life. If I am home and on wifi, the battery was fine, but if I was out and about with 5G, I could watch the battery drain in real time. I returned it and preordered the 12PM ( I am coming from the 11 PM). When I read all of the initial reviews and the comments about the size, I had pretty much decided that I would return the phone and purchase the 12pro and deal with the inferior battery life. After about a day with the 12pm, I loved this phone. It felt lighter (I know it isn't) in my had and more comfortable to hold. The screen is amazing as is the battery life. This phone is a keeper!

Coming from a 7 plus everything about my Pro max pacific Blue is amazing. The quality and response is amazing, the camera is unbelievable especially in low light.
Will be keeping this for a long time.

In the end, I’ve decided to return the 12pm. I still use an 8+ as my daily driver.. what I REALLY want is just some more screen real estate and more edge to edge.. I’ve tried the X, the Xs, the 11 and 11 pro max. with those new form factors, they are just a bit too narrow side to side, of course they have more space and screen real estate top to bottom. I was REALLY hoping that the 12pm would finally be the fit. I tried the 12 first and frankly, I really liked that. I thought the 12pm would be just even better - but, frankly it feels pretty much like a “phablet” in the hano. I like the designe of the squared off edges, but both the weight and feel of it it really feels like a big phone. I have the feeling that apple modeled their target size, shape and features on the Galaxy Note 10+. That is a great phone, great screen and screen size, feels thin, feels pretty light and rocks on the features. I think its no cooincidence that the 12pm is essentially the SAME size corner to corner. But the Note 10+ feels thiner and lighter. Easier in the hand, even more pocketable. When I pick up the 12pm I have the feeling it might as well be and iPad mini. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not huge or totally unwieldy but I can’t see it being my daily driver. At this point, I’m going to try the 12 pro (tried the regular 12 and liked the size, wanted a bit more screen and features) and see if the additional feature set over the 12 is worth it. The 12 is a REALLY nice phone and I think one of the best devices / phones apple has ever made.

Well, that certainly takes place frequently with apple but to your point, has anyone actually seen apple put people on a naughty list per se? I’ve done a lot of trying devices and returning them when they truly just do NOT work out. iPads, watches, laptops, phones of course.. maybe they know I’ve been a buyer for over 40 years? Or maybe a long term shareholder for 23+ years?

I have seen Apple gives a few members here a hard time on this forum with returning stuff...but i can’t remember a specific case.

For me, i once returned a Nikon camera ($2300 worth) to Best Buy (unopened!) and they banned me from returning anything for 1 year! :D So, it is always on my mind whenever i “try” stuff from Apple.
