A lot of people coming from X- or 11-shaped phones who bought the 12 Pro sight unseen have commented on how much bigger the new phones feel due to those flat sides. People who like big phones will be fine with this, but I expect the size difference to feel more significant than those extra few millimetres would suggest.
I believe that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a 6.9 inch screen.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max is roughly the same size as the Nexus 6P, my favorite cell phone of all time. I think that's why I'm okay with getting the Max now after much thought lolNexus 6P was:
nexus 6p
Dimensions159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3 mm (6.27 x 3.06 x 0.29 in)
Weight178 g (6.28 oz)

IPhone 12 Pro Max
Dimensions160.8 x 78.1 x 7.4 mm (6.33 x 3.07 x 0.29 in)
Weight228 g (8.04 oz)

pretty much the same size but the weight difference is huge! (50 g)

I have a 12 Pro and ordered a Pro Max. The main reason was because I came from the 11 Pro Max and went down to the 12 Pro because of size and weight. I'm happy with the 12 Pro, but wanted to see what the size difference was. So here are 2 pics of the 12 Pro in a 12 Pro Max Pitaka case.

Once I get the 12 Pro Max, I'll decide which one I will keep. It would have been nice to go into a store to see instead of ordering another iPhone. Oh well, first world problems....

Literally did the same exact thing.

Nice case does it feel grippy in the hands? I’m used to a gel case with plenty of grip but they get nasty fast.

I have an 11 Pro Max and just received one of my cases for the iPhone 12 Pro Max and it's hardly discernible the difference in size between the 2.....I've always had the Pluses and Maxes so I'm used to it. My husband on the other hand complained about how big his XR was when he first got it lol
I have a 11 pro max and it is fine I love the screen but it is heavy and heavy towards the top while holding it. Im still getting the 12 pro max knowing it is harder to hold but the benefits out weigh that. :)

I got a couple of iPhone pluses too and the 11 pro max more recently and I am always getting annoyed after a while once the hype is fading and because of the size and the weight. I feel that the iPhone 12/iPhone 12 pro are the best compromise/sweet spot for their size.
I will be watching carefully reviews and see how the extra features could convinced me to accept the 12 PM size and the weight flip side.

I can see that and I do also.

Apple should sell a wider (4:3) version as the iPad Pro mini. I’d by that in a heartbeat.

It's thinner so it will be easier to handle.

I already have my Pitaka Air case for the 12 Pro Max. So excited to upgrade from the 8 Plus!!! :D

If only these cases weren’t so ugly and wouldn’t hide so much of the beautiful phone design...

The whole "iT's tOo BiG!" argument is getting a bit tired already, though. I've had the largest size phone since they were available and it's not a problem for me personally. I'm a small girl with small girl hands. It still fits into the back pocket of size 4 jeans. It fits fine in a small purse.

I just like a big screen. To each their own. Hope people will enjoy the Mini too. It's small and cute, but I read a LOT on my phone and game quite a bit as well -- the larger screen size is welcome.
I agree. I literally just put my 11 pro Max in my 12 pro Max case and it’s the tiniest bit bigger. The 11 pro Max sits snug enough in the case and it doesn’t move or fall out if shaken around.

It's also probably a good thing that the size is not changing next year as well. Hopefully, it means that we can use the same case without having to buy a new one.
Yes. This. I am so annoyed that my 11 Pro Max $50 leather case — which is in pristine condition — is useless after only one year. But I wouldn’t put it past Apple to move the camera bump just to 🤬🤬🤬🤬 with us.
