My screen is still unresponsive until I pick the phone up (12 Pro Max) and then it still doesn’t work with my thumbs. The update did fix an issue I had with my photos after the set up was complete; the photo count was correct and the memory was reporting space taken by photos but none of my photos were there, just a tiny picture of a cloud where each one should have been.
I’m not that impressed with my new phone to be honest, I expected better
Get a replacement through apple. Don’t mess around. This is too pricey an investment to be a troubleshooter for them.

So am I.. Never had a problem with Verizon before.. However, we are under a strict health order due to Covid which meant that the Verizon facility I needed was closed.. But, after a lengthy hassle on line chat they relented..

I purchased a (apparently faulty) ipad pro through att earlier this year. Just got ahold of apple and had them process(they required me to make a genius bar appt) the defective device/exchange. Had a brand new ipad(from a white box) in about a week.

iPhone 12 Pro Max, unresponsive screen on my phone when it’s on a flat surface, it doesn’t respond to my thumb, cannot unlock it and it doesn’t work in certain apps. My other fingers seem to work fine. Once I hold the phone in my hands it works properly
My iPhone 12 Pro screen goes black for 0.5-4 seconds randomly (in safari, Netflix, iOS for sure). Volume buttons and screen touches do nothing. Unresponsive. Support couldn’t help and for $30 are sending me an express replacement which only took three days. Sorry not sure where to post this.

So, after arrival of my replacement iPhone 12 Pro Max, the setup and subsequent useage has been flawless. No issues with unresponsiveness. Perhaps the original phone did have a hardware issue but I can’t be the only one to have the phone fail right out of the box. Wonder how many more devices not yet distributed will fail in the next few months..

How is it so far? Are you still experiencing problems? I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max but haven’t gotten around to exchanging it because I thought it was a software problem. I’m thinking of setting an appointment this week. Does anyone know if it really is just a software problem they will eventually fix? Thanks!

I’d like to know as well.
My wife’s phone has been a lot better after the 14.3 update. The camera works most of the time but it still gets stuck on a black camera screen every once in a while. Usually closing the camera app fixes it now but not always. Before the update it was so bad that after a restart the camera would work but once you left the camera app it would no longer work on the next attempt and closing the app didn’t help. We took the phone to the Apple store and they wanted us to do a restore which we did and it fixed it for a few hours. Then I called them again and they offered a replacement but my wife wasn’t around to disable find my iPhone (which they require to be off before sending a replacement) so I didnt order it. Then the 14.3 update came out and we figured we’d give it a try to avoid the hassle of another restore. I’m probably going to call them again and ask for the replacement phone since it is still happening though not as often. Note that we have not tried to set up the phone as a new phone due to the hassle involved so maybe there is something that keeps coming back from her backup which then I guess a new phone wouldn’t fix either.
