I usually do and would. Mine arrives in the mail today. Received new Pro Max yesterday and it went right into the Apple Leather case from box. This morning it was sitting on the leather couch about 14” from floor and slid off, popped out of case and scratched the corner of the phone screen already. And this was on a bamboo wood floor. I’m taking it into Best Buy here today to see what can be done under AppleCare, but that’s shocking to me how easy it was to scratch. Doesn’t seem right.

The more "though" they make the screen to resist falls, the more prone to scratches it becomes. Every new iPhone has "softer" glass than before and it's easier to scratch than the one before (but it cracks less). It's been like this for years

The thing about screen protectors, is they scratch. The screen doesn’t. So you’re using a phone with scratches all over it anyway. People just like the peace of mind knowing it’s only the protector that’s scratched and not the screen, so they subconsciously don’t mind seeing scratches on their phone for this reason.
Screens do scratch, though - and if I scratch my screen, I'm stuck with it for the life of the phone. If I scratch a screen protector (to the point where it actually bothers me - I don't care about micro scratches), I take it off and put a new one on and I have a fresh screen again.

Got my 13Pro today and installed the Spigen glass. I love it! the installation was super easy. I really like their tray setup.
First thing I did upon taking my 13 Pro out of the box yesterday was install the Spigen glass, before I ever even touched the screen. The tray makes it easy, the install was quick and came out perfect. First time I've used Spigen with the alignment tray, but will definitely use them again.

I have a scratch that I can only see in certain lighting and angles.
Not when actually using the phone. Sometimes it’s hard to find unless I go in direct sunlight or angles.

If I go very slowly over it. I can feeel the slightest groove. Or could be my imagination.

could you feel a scratch in the coating even id it’s a faint feeling?

Was big on screen protectors until the 12PM. Used that one without. In 11 months of use only had one tiny mark. Didn't even matter or show when buyer bought that phone. 13PM since 9/24...already see a scuff but I have to put phone at a certain angle to even see it. Yes these screens are stronger but I believe easier to scratch. Oh well.

Screen protectors are one of the biggest scams in phone accessories.
I respectfully disagree. I use a screen protector for anti-spy purposes... and occasionally put my phone in the same pocket as my keys. There are practical uses for it.

Picking up new iPhone 13 Pro Max today for my wife and myself, getting screen protectors installed for both. I didn't use screen protectors until a couple of years ago, but after having them and finding that they don't bother me or detract from using the phone, plus seeing how the screen protectors themselves do get beat up and scratched, I'm more comfortable protecting the phone with them. And when the screen protector becomes scratched, it is replaced under warranty, so it is a one-time cost.

Screen protectors are inexpensive and easy to replace. I put the screen protector with black borders to help them disappear visually, and full screen protectors which have only a small cutout at the top of it for the ear piece. I feel no difference between the screen protector and the actual display glass. Have not had any issues with the display responsiveness using the screen protector.

I agree that it is better to have it and not need it then vice versa. This is especially true for those who carry keys, Ridge wallets and knives as part of their EDC. Other situations might include those devices used in harsh environments like construction sites. The more shatter resistance leads to more scratch potential with ceramic shield. I can recommend the Zagg invisibleshield Glass XTR screen protector which is a little pricey and I am sure that there are numerous alternatives that are cheaper. These smartphones are just going to get more expensive over time so why not protect them properly.

Wondering whether or not I should get a screen protector put on my iPhone 13 Pro. I will be purchasing AppleCare for it but I’ve always been on and off about putting another piece of glass over the screen.

What are all your opinions on it? I’d like to hear your thoughts.
A screen protector is a must for me because any new display that comes out will always get cracks or scratches and I hate it. So I decided to install a liquid screen protector from Gadgetshieldz and this gives good protection to my display.

I get it but on the other hand, life is so short and the things we humans have during our time here are nothing but trinkets. I've had so many phones, cars, things. I keep things nice but stuff like phones, watches, stuff happens. I don't care, it's not the end of the world and I can always get another. I never understood keeping stuff like that "pristine". Such a heavily used device. A TV on the other hand sure. A car? Good luck! :p

You should see my car :) - 06 Crown Vic. A tree fell on it during a hurricane, dented the roof. Hasn't been washed in years. Still driving it to this day. Paid off. Yeah I've had the trans rebuilt, lots of stuff replaced, got HID headlights (the real deal, not that aftermarket crap). Stereo, AC, heat all work. A trunk fit for a king! What more do I need?

I take care of my phone but wear and tear means it’s being used not a museum piece. Screen Protectors don’t make sense to me.

I drive a well used one owner 97 Camary with a Lexus V6 it’s mechanical Perfection. I replaced suspension and rack and pinion as well as premium rotors and Pads. Just did the timing belt. Visually the faded battleship grey paint gives the illusion that it’s a beater which means I can park it anywhere and no one gives it a second look

Love it!

?

Going to keep it going as long as I can.

One thing I’ve noticed is that you don’t get as much money as you think you’d get for having an immaculate iPhone that has been protected by case + screen protector.

I’ve sold used iPhones that were used caseless, with normal wear and tear and get within the same amount of money as a pristine iPhone that was babied.

Most people just want a working iPhone without any issue and a decent battery health these days.

My daughter took her and her daughter's iPhone into Apple to have the cracked screens replaced. The guy looked at the phones, peeled off the screen protectors to reveal perfectly smooth screens. He looked at her and asked if she wanted new ones put on. That was a big yes! Both of them are hard on their phones. For them a great cheap investment.

My husband is on the second screen protector for his 1Phone 12 Pro. Unfortunately he dropped it from the top of our barn onto the concrete floor cracking the back - it was in what I thought was an adequate case, now it has an even tougher one. AppleCare+ replaced the back but the screen made it through the drop.

My husband is very hard on his phone. One example - my husband did not realize the magnetic charging makes the back of the phone, well - magnetic. He has twice now laid his phone on his truck bed rail, left it there, and driven down the road. The phone was fine just riding along on the rail of the bed.

Why is that got a hole in it ?

For the first time ever for me I left the Apple Store with my new iPhone (13 Pro Max) without having a tempered glass screen protector installed on the spot. This was only because there was a recall on the tempered glass ones so Apple could only install a plastic kind, which I declined. Luckily there is a Zagg kiosk in the mall, directly outside the Apple Store. I took about twenty steps to the kiosk and had the tempered glass screen protector installed immediately. As soon as that was done I put on a Dark Cherry leather case. Only then did I feel secure using my new iPhone.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector: ALWAYS.
Leather or Silicone Case: ALWAYS.
AppleCare: ALWAYS.

How is it a shame? It is one continuous piece of clear tempered glass with a black border. It has seamless look to it once it is installed.
Mines also one seamless glass with small gap for the earpiece cut out. I don’t have a black ring around the camera. Try and take a pic of the actual protector if you have one, cheers.

Received my iPhone 13 Pro with screen protector installed in box, was bit of WTF moment.
Apparently our company has insurance for phones that requires this, so they come pre-installed.
First time for everything, never saw any need for screen protectors.
