For the first time ever for me I left the Apple Store with my new iPhone (13 Pro Max) without having a tempered glass screen protector installed on the spot. This was only because there was a recall on the tempered glass ones so Apple could only install a plastic kind, which I declined. Luckily there is a Zagg kiosk in the mall, directly outside the Apple Store. I took about twenty steps to the kiosk and had the tempered glass screen protector installed immediately. As soon as that was done I put on a Dark Cherry leather case. Only then did I feel secure using my new iPhone.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector: ALWAYS.
Leather or Silicone Case: ALWAYS.
AppleCare: ALWAYS.
So, the Apple installed Belkin screen protectors are still not available? What a mess, as those are the only ones I get, as the install job is perfect. Weird how there can still be issues, when it is basically the same ever year.

When my wife and I picked up our new 13 Pro Max iPhones at the Apple Store a month ago, I also purchased the Belkin screen protectors and asked to have them installed. The specialist at the store said they couldn't install them because they didn't yet have the special fixtures that they use to hold the phone and install the protector. I told him that it was ok, I still preferred to have them install the screen protector since they are more experienced in doing it, and he agreed.

I haven't heard anything about a recall on the Belkin glass protector but I've registered them on the Belkin website and if I receive a recall notice I'll share that information here.

I’m a fan of the black order full edge to edge tempered glass screen protectors. But that hole for once in my life is off putting ?
Remember that the black border around the hole for the front camera is in the notch area which is also black. It just blends into the notch area once it is installed. Looks great.

I’m happy with mine. It’s even ….

Did you install the camera lens protectors?
Yes. Really happy with the individual ones. It cost 6$ for a 6 pack in graphite.
The screen protector is close to the edge as I could find. But not as thick as I'd like. Generally my favorite tempered screen protectors have those thick adhesive backing film and with black borders that go edge to edge. The current one isn't either just edge to edge.

In the pictures it looks like your screen needs to be cleaned or is it underneath the screen protector.

What I really like about the iCarez is the black border, case friendly and does not feel flimsy. I would call it somewhat thick. I like how seamless it looks when installed. Even went on the first time without bubbles or dust particles.

Oh I apologize for not cleaning my screen prior to taking the photos. 😂👍🏼

One dust particle under any part of a screen protector is one dust particle too many.

I use one. The little micro scratches drive me bonkers, and it doesn't take away from the overall experience of using the iPhone. I think it's a little more debatable as far as the tradeoffs in experience if you're using one with an iPad and Apple Pencil for example, but on iPhone I stick with the nice, high quality tempered glass protectors, and usually only need one per phone. They tend to hold up nicely for me and are actually easier to clean than the naked screen too.

True, and it drives me nuts!

Living in an old house, dust is EVERYWHERE, even with air purifiers... I did nail it with the screen protector back in late Sept. on first try. (VERY rare). Humid day, not super dry air like fall/winter and dust is literally all over with static cling...that seemed to help thankfully.

That’s a very good point you’ve mentioned. The dust on the cling film of the protector. That sometimes get me. 😭

Funny enough, had my XS Max for 3 years, no protector. I've had my 13 Pro Max since launch, in a case except for a one week stint trying out nekkidness. Noticed this today. No clue how it happened. I'll throw some clear nail polish on it to fill it in. Just really odd because the case has a lip. Really odd place to have those.

Any chance the phone hit something at that corner, even with relatively light pressure? That case looks like it is not soft like the Apple silicone cases, for example, and I imagine that any impact would be transferred straight to the phone and glass.
