I would kind of like under screen Touch ID next year especially if wearing masks is still the norm. Unlocking my phone and using Apple Pay with a mask on is quite tedious especially when my MacBook uses Touch ID and iPad uses Face ID you get used to not having to do anything.

wearing mask will still be the norm until 2022-2023.

An under the hood “feature” if it happens in 2021, and maybe we need to wait an extra year or two, but Apple has invested heavily and stated it’s intention to design its own radio silicon (modems etc).

If the team they have assembled there can deliver the sort of world-beating designs in terms of efficiency and performance that the A-series team has been turning out year after year it could be very significant. I don’t know enough about RF design to know what types of different radios could co-exist on the same geometry (hence the same silicon) but even if that tight an integration is mostly impossible Apple might at least be able to co-package separate wafers to reduce chip count & reduce the size of the main PCB maybe leaving more internal volume for battery.

I really can’t wait to see if this not-so-new-now in-house wireless chip design team can deliver in the same way the A-series team has.

I will say it here first! It will have smooth chamfered edges like how they upgraded iPhone 5 -> iPhone 5s!

1. DC Dimming or PWM implementation that does not bother the eyes of a small percentage of users (myself included)
2. Thicker device as opposed to thinner to allow for a larger battery and completely remove the camera bump.
3. Change in materials used (aluminum vs stainless steel, aluminum back vs glass) to allow the Max version to be lighter than 8oz.

mine would be
  1. Higher OLED flicker frequency rate . +400hz or DC dimming
  2. Touch ID
  3. Lower devices weight

is wireless chargine still possible with aluminum back?

yes on that aluminum instead of stainless steel, the weight that will be shaved can be used for extra battery, so it wont be heavier having a bigger battery.

Nothing crazy:
1. Touch ID power button (in addition to Face ID)
2. A little more battery life
3. USB-C (this probably won't happen, it's more likely to go portless, but now that my iPad has it I want it on the iPhone too)

1. ProMotion
2. Pro Max (or better) cameras on normal Pro (maybe with smaller 5G chips in the next phone they can find more room for the camera system)

Promotion promotion 💦💦🙃. Like honestly who cares

The 12 is such a huge upgrade over the disappointing 11 that it’ll set the standard for years. It’s up there with the 4, 5, 6 and X/XR. People stuck on the 11 will feel very silly if they are locked in for 2 years

1.5,000mah battery

2.Touch ID in display

3.Selfie cam in display

1.A 5,000mah battery

My ideal "iPhone 13" would be an 8" iPad Mini with:
1. iPP form factor
2. Full cellular capabilities
3. Promotion

- Mini Pro
- USB-C
- even thinner, like iPhone 7 levels of thin. (almost there....)

Don't need bigger battery, promotion or touchID.... but obviously wouldn't bother me, unless they make the phone thicker.
