The question of whether or not to skip depends heavily on what your priorities are. If it's processor bumps, then that's one thing. If it's camera changes, that's another. If it's external redesigns, that's yet another. So from the leaks the new iPhone is limited due to its CPU still on 5nm because TSMC isn’t ready. A15 to A16 won’t yield any day to day benefits other than synthetic benchmarks. Even if they switch to USB-C waiting a year to the iPhone 15 and a new 3nm die shrink and LPDDR5 RAM. Seems like a plan.
Anyone definitely getting the iPhone 14 and Pro or Max ?
Personally, I'm most gravitated towards Apple products with an established (read: safe) design because reliability is what matters to me most in my phone and every time Apple changes the design of the iPhone drastically, an Apple Repair Extension Program is sure to follow. The 14 Pro sounds like it'll get a bit of a redesign while the standard 14 may not.
Apple is always updating the camera systems so whether or not to skip seems pointless from that standpoint; there's always going to be camera improvements. A15 wasn't a huge jump over A14; though it was still a jump. Then again, even small bumps help and are often a factor for when Apple is to inevitably drop support.
