If you receive Best Buy notification either via text message or checking the Best Buy app, it should be available when they open but that depends on timing. Because it's the launch, it should be upon store opening.
My experience in getting iPhones for pickup from Best Buy is “don’t get your hopes up” for early notification. The last three releases, I get launch day pickup, but only get notified that day. I think Best Buy is distributing its initial allocation from Apple well past the last moment. Many things have been said about the Best Buy process, but orderly is not one of them. 😉
Mine from them is being delivered. Well mines coming from Apple because I don’t like to waste my time. It’s the significant others phone from Best Buy
Similar happened to me. I pre-ordered the Apple Watch last Wednesday from BestBuy (for delivery, not store pickup). Its pending charge on my credit card dropped this morning. I pre-ordered the iPhone on Friday and that charge still shows as pending.
Also, I noticed on the Order Details page for my iPhone order on BestBuy's web site, that I can't change the shipping options. Those options were available to me on yesterday. I'm hoping that change means it's actually gonna ship on time.
Can’t change the shipping options here either. It does still give me the option to cancel though.
Years ago Best Buy screwed up big time on my new iPhone order and I swore I would never buy a phone from them again

Me:
so I will not be receiving the phone on the 16th?
CS REP NAME:
I hope you can get it as soon as possible because this item its having high demand.
No myname, That is the release date.
Me:
well when I ordered it said delivered on the 16th
and my status indicates "Get it by Release Date: Fri, September 16"
so I assumed I would get it "on the release date"

I hope you can get it on that date but I remember the same situation with the iPhone 13 last year and it was the same. The release date its not the same as the estimated delivery date.

I always choose in-store pickup so as to get the device with less risk of being tossed around as might happen in a delivery. Supposedly, my iPhone 14 Pro Max is ready to pick up on Friday. In addition, because I have Total Tech Support, I get the tempered glass screen protector applied by more steady hand.
My preorder through Best Buy is also set to delivery and I contacted their chat support as well. I was told that on release day, I will receive my phone from a local store via same day delivery.

They only asked for a $50 deposit, which was charged and it said get the iPhone as early as the 15th.
My order said shipped yesterday (shipping label created) and pending carrier pickup.
I hope to get it Friday. But I’m confused, is it being shipped to them, then I pick up in store? If that’s the case why give me the tracking number?
If they are shipping to me, how do they expect to get their money (I used PayPal for the deposit) Lol.

I preordered the evening of 9/9. I just got an email saying my purchase was ready for pickup, but it was just my clear case lol. I checked on the phone order… I guess this is a good indicator that I’ll get it on Friday?!
I hope that ends up true for you. From everything I can find your lucky if it holds true and it’s really a toss up until you have the phone I’m your hand. Everything from broken promises to people getting notified that it’s ready for pick up, going to the store and it not actually ready for pick up.
Yeah, I’m being cautiously optimistic! Last year was a mess (idk why went back for more). I never got to the “Preparing for Pickup” stage. The Saturday after release day, it changed to “delayed”… I finally canceled it the following week; I eventually got my phone about two weeks later.
Yea. This isn’t even my phone that’s coming from Best by. It’s the significant others. I only go to Apple for them. If I can’t get the Apple preorder right then I’ll go wait at the store if I want it bad enough. She decides 8 hours after preorder begins that she wants one 🤦♂️
Well, I tried to preorder via Apple, but that whole fiasco was going on! Told myself maybe I didn’t need the phone anyway… Somehow, I ended up on the Best Buy app; next thing I knew, I had ordered it! Haha
I ordered an iPhone for pickup at Best Buy on Friday using the 3-year payment plan from AT&T, it seemed to be the only way I could order it from BB. Does anyone know if I can just pickup the phone and activate it later? I am debating between keeping the Space Black BB phone vs the Deep Purple one I'm receiving from Apple.
