Does anyone know if Best Buy will allow me to transfer iPhone to iPhone when I'm there? I'm trading in my 11 Pro Max to them for T-Mobile and getting the 14 Pro. I rather just do a iPhone to iPhone transfer so that my sim card can also be transferred to ESIM at the same time.

For me when I picked up my 12 pro on release day, I actually just picked up the phone like any other pick up item. Phone didn’t actually get activated until I turned it on a day later
Just checked my order status, and it says "Ready for Pickup"

Best Buy screwed me and canceled my Verizon iPhone 14 pro max pre order last minute…

They receive trucks on launch day too I used to work their so you might get lucky during the day. Either they just don't have the phone in stock or they haven't completed your order in their systems yet.
I setup an appointment and did the pre-order in-store. If you did it in person, you also get to select a storage size greater than 256GB. I also setup an appointment to setup my iPhone 14 Pro Max 512GB in Space Black this morning.
When did you pre-order? What variant, storage size and color did you order? The delay could be due one or more of these factors.
I pre-ordered at 1230pm on 9/9 and my iPhone 14 Pro Max 512GB in Space Black is ready.
As mentioned previously, you could get lucky with your spec. They might fulfill it on the spot.
I always do in-store to avoid delays like this and to complete the trade-in/setup process so I can walk out the same day.
You can get that from Apple. Best Buy only sells carrier phones.
Deep Purple seems to be outpacing Space Black both in this forum poll as well as anecdotal stories in the tech media.

Feel like I was one of the first to make it through the site so I would hope that it's possible to pick it up today. Should I call the store to ask about my order or just wait out the entire day to see if I get an email saying it's ready?

I don’t even think it’s possible to call a store directly anymore. I believe their number goes directly to a call center and they speak to the stores for you.
I did two separate orders for shipping to me on release day. Both are coming from stores in completely different states than where I live. One is arriving on time and the other one is delayed...looks like they didn't fulfill the order in time for overnight delivery.
I just canceled my best buy order and ordered from Verizon for in store pick up. On my way to pick it up now
