I just received the iPhone 14 Pro and attempted to take a picture from WhatsApp

The first time the camera app was jumping and wobbly, I restarted the camera mode and it was ok

Then on the 3rd try the entire camera array was vibrating (as well as the camera app itself)

It was super weird.

Did anyone else experience this?

Yes! I opened up snapchat and the camera module started going crazy. I tapped the camera a couple of times and it hasn’t done it since 🙈. Hopefully its just a one time thing…

Mine didn't vibrate (or I didn't notice) but when the Camera app is open (and set rear camera array and not selfie mode) there's a bit of static noise coming from the cameras. Granted it's not really audible (unless I'm taking a photo of my ear canale) but weird.

Same for me no vibrations etc just slight buzz, can't hear anything until my ear is touching the lenses though so I guess its alright?

That's usually indicative of a hardware problem with the motors that stable the camera.

Mine does it occasionally when I open Snapchat. I hear a very loud buzzing noise and the screen looks like it’s shaking. iPhone 14 pro

My iPhone 14 Pro Max has been making strange vibrations/noise from the camera twice. Haven't had any issues with the camera while in use though.

yes exactly that
guess I'll have to go to the apple store
Mine started doing this today as well. Seems to be linked to apps that use the camera, although I haven’t seen any logic regarding when the vibration starts. If you do visit the apple store, please update us about how it’ll go since I live pretty far from one myself and would like to make a visit only if necessary :D

My 14 Pro Max also did this one time, specifically when setting up my new phone, i was activating my banking app that asks me to scan my id card. After confirming access to the camera, the buzz started.
It looks like it is related to 3rd pary apps.
The native camera app works normally.

Probaby the api call changed for 3rd pary apps, or the kernel extension used to drive the camera has some bugs with OIS/FOCUS biasing.

I have this issue with my Pro Max, and noticed that it is only doing this with 3rd party apps like Snapchat, Instagram, etc. It doesn't do this when I use the native camera app, or on FaceTime. I spoke with Apple Support and they said that if it doesn't shake when using the camera app/FaceTime, it seems to be a problem on the 3rd party apps end.

I've been having this issue with only 3rd party apps too. My camera works normal with the camera app and facetime, so after contacting Apple, they said that it seems to be a problem with the apps. Hoping these apps roll out updates early next week.

Could be, whatsapp, Facebook works for me, so it is not 100% of the time. That points in the direction of some bugs somewhere.

Yea last night I would run into the shaking every so often when opening snapchat. This morning it only shook once for snapchat, but when I switched to front face camera, it stopped. Definitely sucks, but Apple said if it's not shaking on the native camera app/facetime, it's not a hardware issue.

Same issue here! Spoke to apple support, they said IT IS a hardware issue and will replace my phone with a new one. Annoyingly I’m going away Tuesday for 2 weeks! Luckily they are extending the return period to 30 days so will arrange when back.

They ran a mobile diagnostic on my phone And said the hardware is fine, but that sound did not sound good at all lol sounded like the camera was about to explode.

They told me to take it into an Apple Store also for a replacement if need be…that better be a brand new out of the box unit if that’s the case 😂

I backed up my phone, reset it and now I haven't ran into this issue anymore. Still on the lookout for it to happen again, and if it does I am calling Apple for a replacement lol

I'm seeing the same issue on my 14 pro. I can only get it to happen when opening snapchat so I'm not convinced it's a hardware issue at this time.
