I've been noticing an issue with my iPhone 14 pro at times. Sometimes when I pick my phone up and go to unlock it, the screen is not responsive. I swipe up to unlock it and it doesn't unlock and the rest of the screen doesn't respond either. I need to press the power button to turn the screen off and then press it again to turn it back on and then it works. It doesn't happen all the time. Maybe once every day or every other day. Has anyone else experienced this? I was thinking of bringing it into an Apple store but since it's not something that happens consistently and it's totally random I think it will be hard for me to show this behavior to them. I have always on display off.

It happened to me so much, I decided to do a phone swap. NO change in behavior - which made me realize it must be a n IOS bug. I did notice a phantom scroll up being registered which seems to be the root cause.

Mine does it too, maybe once a day. But in my case I have AOD on, tap to wake on, but raise to wake off. I’ve only noticed it happening when I take it out of my pocket, so kinda think it’s related to whatever sensor turns off the AOD in-pocket. But AOD does turn on, just the screen doesn’t respond to touch.

My 14 pro max does this too, as well as my wife’s. Happens both in the case and out of the case, and when it happens, I usually get a little one tick haptic vibration and the dynamic island pulses for a second, as if it’s trying to to Face ID and failing. Mostly happens to me, or at least I mostly notice it, when trying to swipe up with the home bar.

My GF has been having this problem, I complained to Apple Support and they asked her to bring it in for a hardware diagnostic test. The test came back that everything was fine but it's still happening. They refused to do a hardware swap because the test came back fine.

They did complete erase and restore in-store to update the internal firmware, it "fixed" the problem for a few days and then started happening again.

Last week I had an appointment with Genius Bar and they told me to do a software reset and come back if it didn't fix the problem. As expected, this did not solve the problem, this Friday I have an appointment again at Genius Bar.

same as the group. i noticed it on youtube first. if we are all having it, it’s a software bug. the guy above who did a fresh exchange and still has it proves the point. best we can do is submit the bug

Ran into this bug for the first time last night. My phone is on 16.1.1. Phone rang, but I couldn't answer it because the screen wasn't responsive. Toggling the power button fixed the problem, but by the time I thought to do so the caller was already sent to voicemail.

Finally in Gennius Bar they have replaced the screen of my phone for this problem. In 2 days I will tell you if the screen replacement has solved the problem.

The problem has happened again, it will be a software problem
solid help post here. we’ve seen someone replace the phone, you did the screen and it’s an issue on my wife’s pro. agree on the software. ensure folks report to apple as i did

Same issue as well. I noticed this on YouTube with problems, trying to swipe downwards to hide a video. It’s also been doing some weird things with touch sensitivity. Whenever I tap on a folder anywhere on the right hand side of the screen, it will sometimes behave as if it’s a double tap and immediately hide the folder away. Has anyone else experiences?

Turning off keyboard sound and turning off haptic seems to help. I’ll report back after sometime how it goes. Seems like a sound driver issue.

Same problem here with my iPhone 14 pro and my wife’s. Also facing issues with typing. It’s really annoying.
What’s the typing issues youre having? in case it’s a similar issue here. Also finding the software Bug aforementioned ☹️

When I type anywhere on safari or an app the typing stutters, misses strokes and lags. This is across everything. Did a reset which didn’t help. My wife 14 pro has the same issue. Currently disabled keyboard sounds and enabled haptic which is working great so far. But the screen touch issues need a fix asap. The phone feels like an android phone.
