Question for you; why did you buy the device if you thought it was poor value for money?

It seems odd to me that you recognised you didn’t see value in the product, but you bought it anyway.
It was how it aged. You only know it afterwards. But for sure next time I buy different.

The features the phone comes with don’t deteriorate over time, other than things like waterproofing, battery capacity, and whatever else.

If you’re not happy because a newer phone has better/newer features then I’m not sure what advice I can give you to help alleviate your anguish.

Advice: spending less money next time. e.g. Refurbished, less storage, non pro versionk older model etc

Absolutely, you can certainly do those things. But then you’ll be even more upset as your phone will be even more out-of-date vs the latest. But your upset might be tempered by having not paid so much in the first place.

Don't think so. It's a difference if I spend 2000+ Euros on a device which is not able to run all apps less than a year later or if I spend 1000 ish and I know that it's not the latest and greatest.

No AI for the 14pro/max. I wonder how many future iOS updates it will see.
Could be worse, you could have bought a 15 Plus over a 15 Pro Max and tried to convince yourself you did the right thing…right up until the Apple Intelligence announcement. 🤣

Jokes aside, hopefully Apple to begin rolling out parts of Apple Intelligence to 13 Pro and 14 Pros at the very least.

It is the perfect strategy for increasing the upgrade cycle. Cut off features to drive sales. Either you care to pay and play or don’t. Finance department makes all the final calls. It will be an individual choice and assessment of cost and value. Fortunately I couldn't care less about AI or limiting my charge to 80%, but everyone is different.

It kinda reminds me of 4 to 4s with Siri

There was no technical reason Siri couldn’t be run on iPhone 4 it was purely to force upgrades

Here I guess it’s theoretically possible not all of AI could be fleshed out on a16 devices but if it can run on m1 I don’t see why not a16 it feels much the same scenario. Even ram limitations they didn’t have to fully exclude it.

In the same way that iPhone 15 plus despite having identical sensors as 14 pro max and same processor has some software enhancements to image quality purely chalked up to intentional stonewalling

To be honest even though iPhone 15 pro will get it I think every one who wants that experience will be jonezing for iPhone 16 pro. 15 pro will somehow be hampered too even if it is the cut off device. Like possibly disastrous battery life
