It seems it is. I keep getting something went wrong though when I confirm my current phone info (serial/IMEI).

It takes me all the way to the carrier confirmation but the continue is grayed out. Maybe later today or tomorrow. I don’t remember from last year

correct.. IIRC the pre-approval uses a different workflow than the standard upgrade one that shows now

Ok, I'm a little dense, but if I'm NOT in the AUP can I sign up and trade in my 14? The gist of the AUP is you need to have made payments to use it. Not sure where that leaves newbies.

I guess I could just buy it outright and see what I can get for my 14. I could always return it, but I would rather do everything at once. My carrier would require me to pay it off to upgrade with them, which isn't even an upgrade then.

Also, there's the 'in-store handoff' , to avoid problems with third parties ripping you off, as I recall.
