We already know 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro is getting periscope next year. Many people don't seem to understand that the periscope module is pretty big. It's like adding another lens to the phone. I don't think Apple deliberately neglected the iPhone 15 Pro this year. They simply couldn't fit in the module.

I don’t know, I just can’t get that side by side zoom comparison out of my mind. Samsung is already putting the zoom to absolute shame, but Apple is still promoting it as a headline feature. This better be good.

For the record I don’t care that much, but it’s Apple themselves setting themselves up for this.

Hopefully the iPhone Ultra will finally support the Apple Pencil.

If this iPhone comes with 8 GB ram I will trade in the 14 pro max and purchase it. And I will keep it for years until the wheels fall off. Perhaps upgrading the battery once or twice.

With an a17 and 8 GB ram, there’s not much reason to upgrade. I know apple will try its best to convince me otherwise but I don’t see a need to do so anytime soon.
You say that, but I’m hearing next year they’re planning to have slightly rounder edges still!

Also - and this is not confirmed - the titanium finish will be brushed in the opposite direction o_O

So yeah, just start saving for it now 😂

seems like the stage is set for another lackluster event this year. Same phone same watch new marketing terms to hoodwink the consumer.
Hoodwink is a strong word. For me, some of those marketing terms and some new shades of lipstick on the piggie are worth about eh, $1,000-1,200.

Now look, I don’t just throw that type of money around easily. No. I’m paying for a high production show and some dazzling hype to carry me through to about late spring ‘24 when I’ll start realizing it’s just the same phone, and get to jonesing for some sweet iP16PMU rumors. Here’s the one I’m personally going to hold onto for months - the famous crimson red/bronze color! Can’t wait! 🤣

At the end of the day I’m paying good money for this experience so they need to be coming correct with some fire new marketing terms.

The iPhone Ultra should be a foldable phone and not a .2” screen size difference. I would like to have over M2 performance rather than A18 performance next year. 12gb of RAM. Minimum storage should be 512gb. Not a lot to ask for a $2.5k phone. Be prepared to have the wallets opened.

These pictures will always look **** compared to real cameras though they still satisfy the social media crowd and soccer moms. No matter how many "movies" they made with iPhones. 😁

I used to have the urge to buy every iPhone generation up until 12. Once you make it passed that nonsense and expensive „addiction“, it actually turns into the opposite. Now I am more like „let’s see how long I can hold onto my iPhone 12 Pro Max!“.

The longer I wait, the more „wow“ I will eventually get from the new device.

Maybe iPhone 16 will be the one!

I'm surprised Apple didn't name it "iPhone 15 Ultra" just to justify the $100 price increase. Lol.

They're like f it, y'all still gonna buy if regardless of the name.

There is usually some form of internal consistency in Apple’s naming scheme. For example, plus or max denotes a larger size, while pro suggests that it is better in some way (eg: specs).

Ultra suggests something over and beyond the pro model. If there isn’t, then they won’t give it the name.

The Ultra should be like the watch; durable, long battery life, and built for the outdoors with a brighter screen, higher drop rating, and significant waterproofing.

I’d like to see a sapphire screen, much improved speakers, 7”+ 144hz display, A18 chip, 16gb ram from the iPad, 6,000mah battery, much larger main camera sensor with detachable lens that’s compatible with Sony Lenses, active liquid cooling, sensors for detecting toxic air and radioactivity, just to name a few.

Apple's highest-end iPhone this year will be named iPhone 15 Pro Max, instead of iPhone 15 Ultra, according to a report on Friday from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The other devices in the lineup will include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and iPhone 15 Pro.

Gurman himself previously reported that Apple has considered Ultra branding for its highest-end iPhone, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra, and it is possible it will be used for the iPhone 16 Ultra with a larger 6.9-inch display next year. For now, however, it appears that Pro Max branding will live on for at least another year.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is rumored to exclusively feature an upgraded telephoto lens with up to 6x optical zoom, compared to a 3x limit on the iPhone 14 Pro models. The device is also expected to feature a titanium frame, customizable Action button, faster A17 Bionic chip, thinner bezels, Wi-Fi 6E support, and more. iPhone 15 Pro Max pricing is rumored to start at $1,199 in the U.S., which would be $100 more than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 15 series at its "Wonderlust" event on Tuesday, September 12 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Stay tuned for our in-depth coverage of Apple's announcements, including in-person coverage from Steve Jobs Theater.

Question: who made this concept design?

I have large hands and I think the Max is too big. I don’t love that they gatekeep stuff from the “regular” Pro devices. A $100 price difference for screen size shouldn’t mean I get a lesser camera. They did the same thing with the iPad Pro with the XDR display. The 14” and 16” MBP’s are in parity spec-wise. Just don’t get why they don’t do the same with the phones and iPads.
