Listen, if the new iPhone justifies its price increase, people will buy it; if it doesn't we won't. Also, an un-compelling price increase will keep existing iPhones at an elevated price level.

You girls do more complaining that a sewing circle.

Chill !

MacRumors should be celebrating this news. Apple should suck every penny it can out of consumers because shareholders need to make more money and Apple's 3 trillion dollar worth just isn't enough. They should raise the price as much as possible.

Buy the phone outright or have payments each month for two years and you choose payments? To each their own but I buy my phones outright because I can with ease. Even at 0% interest I would never "finance" a cell phone. It makes no sense. I will not be beholden to any of these swine.
Plus you don't have to jump through hoops just to get your phone unlocked (if you buy it factory unlocked). Also, what would happen if you're on a payment plan & have to take a business trip or a vacation outside of the U.S.?

If your phone isn't paid off & you don't have it unlocked, then you're SOL on that front. You won't be able to easily get a international SIM or eSIM.

Is this the 2nd or 3rd price increase in a row (outside of the US) now?

I get that the cost for everything is going up but my concern is it not going back down when things get better.
There have not been any price increases in the US. This is the 3rd or 4th year in a row that a price increase has been rumored.

Technically the first price increase was the 8/X series - the 8 brought the base model from $649 to $699. The X introduced the Pro $999 tier, the Xs introduced the larger Pro $1099 tier for the first time.

The XR again raised the base price from $699 to $749, but it was dropped back to $699 with the 11

The 12 raised the base price all the way to $799, but introduced the mini at $699

These increases however also exist in the same years as a $399 SE option, which is the most affordable based price for an iPhone ever. All of the price points in the middle are filled in with previous generation models.

Although there's been some back and forth with the non-pro phones, the Pro / Pro Max lineup has been consistent since the X ($999) and Xs Max ($1099) to the 14 Pro (still $999) and the 14 Pro Max ($1099).

I'm really starting to feel that iPhone needs to simply move to a completely different product model. The available models become less and less appealing to me, but aspects of certain models are really really appealing to me. There's no stock model that's perfect. I would LOVE to see a CTO iPhone lineup:

1) Choose a size (mini / mid / max)
2) Choose a frame (aluminum / stainless / titanium)
3) Choose a storage
4) Choose from a variety of features:
- mini phones can choose 2 cameras (ultra wide/wide or wide/telephoto)
- mid and max phones choose a range 2 or 3 cameras
5) Choose a battery capacity
- maybe each model can have a thin / fat version and offer a standard and extended battery capacity option
- camera choice is a potential blocker on battery choice as physical space is of course limited

This is not all that wild of an idea - and some of this aligns directly with how Apple Watch is sold (3 sizes, multi finishes, choose a band) or pick from a handful of popular pre-configured options.

Everybody should be proud that we get to contribute to make Apple a 4 trillion dollar company by the of this year. MacRumors should stop complaining and start paying.

I can’t wait to pay my fair share of $2000 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple should have a donations page on their website. I'd even sign up for a biweekly donation with nothing in return, Apple really should take everyone's money. I'm sure MacRumors would stand behind this, let's get it done!

I won’t be getting the next iPhone until the dynamic island is gone. It’s a terrible feature. It makes watching videos and playing games terrible. A small notch would have been such a welcome feature. But this black gaping hole looking back at me all day has gotten on my nerves.
Good luck with that. It's here to stay now.
If we get another £150 hike like last year or even £50, I’ll be done after buying every iPhone since the original.

It’s just an utter piss take now, the 14 pro and soon 15 Pro are not worth the prices they’re asking for tbh.

Apple doesn’t have a hold over Europe like it does in the US so switching to android is much easier.

Google seem to realize this and keep their prices reasonable right now.
This. It's not because people outside of the U.S. don't like Apple (they do); It's because of the high price tags of their products.

If Apple were to start competing with Android companies on pricing & not keep charging everyone premium prices, more people outside of the U.S. would buy iPhones & Apple would be on a even level playing field with Android on global marketshare right now.

If someone has to finance their cell phone, then it is easy to understand why they are in a poor financial situation. I take no pity on these people. Ever heard of saving, or working harder to make more money? And I'm not looking down on anyone. People can live their lives however they choose. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to call people out on making poor decisions. That's just what I do. I also reward people for making good decisions.
This guy thinks he’s the main character

Or as Jim Rome would say, when someone starts a sentence with no disrespect, someone is about to get disrespected.

Not really a surprise. Everything is getting more and more expensive.
nice nice accepting that everything is getting more expensive is a start . The 15pro series probably will be between $100-$200 more than last years . But who cares your carrier will have a finance option If need be . Gotta pay to have apple‘s latest device

Why are all the rumors saying this will be a 5-6x telephoto when Samsung had 10x for some time now?
10x is great but these days you don't need 10x optical to be as strong as samsung's as there are others with 5x which photos wise are just as sharp. Where it's helps is certainly in the longer ranges

thing is those people in UK are still buying these devices so apple has no reason to change things.

Latest report shows the latest iphones are the best 4 selling phones in the UK.
