Predict Apple are dropping gold while they work on getting the look right with the new material.
It opens up the door for a triumphant return of a gold variant on a future iPhone, which will seem extra new due to it's absence for a period.

I always wanted a gold phone. Wasn't available when I got my 14 pm so I got the silver. It has really grown on me but I always figured my next one would be gold (or even better- rose gold). Since I'm skipping the 15 anyway I'm hoping they will bring it (or rose gold) back for the 16

So this seems to line up with the rumor from a few days ago about color-matched cables except the "no yellow" part...
So I think I see a match(?) for black, for blue (but not exactly dark blue?), for silver there.
Now what about that yellow cable and that peach/pinkish one? Is natural titanium peachy/pinkish?
Update: a search of natural titanium yields an interesting color match...
Presumably, ALL of the pictured cables match it somewhere on it. But I'm guessing the natural titanium phone is not going to be psychedelic color. Or is it???

I’m set with getting the natural-like titanium finish 15 PM, even if the blue color will likely be stunning. Hopefully the back glass is in a matching or coordinating gray color. I’m excited to see what gets launched this year.

I've now owned all of the "pro" colors, and gold was by far the nicest. I have a hard time imagining that they'll get rid of it.
Did Apple drop gold now so they can bring it back in 2026 for their 50th anniversary / golden jubilee? Otherwise it kinda loses meaning if they offer gold every single year.
My dream pro iPhone color is the iPhone 12 purple. It will never happen, but I can dream. I’m still upset that I missed the 14 Pro’s purple, but I couldn’t justify the upgrade over the 13P. Time for another blue phone, I guess…
