Yes, I don’t disagree, even a 14 Pro would offer a similar experience to a 17 Pro for most users. This suggests the vast majority of people with a 17 Pro aren’t utilising its capabilities.

I play AAA games on my 17 Pro and, according to the benchmarks, the performance is around 40% better than a 15 Pro (which is the minimum specs for a AAA title).

When I am not playing games, which is like 95% of the time, I may as well be using a 15 Pro.
I personally have a soft spot for the 15 Pro, mainly because of its smaller size and nice feel in the hand. It was Apples first 3Nm iPhone with the A17 Pro, included ray tracing support and the Titanium frame is just beautiful. You are right about the performance of the 17 Pro, it is of course more powerful and sustains performance better with the vapour chamber and massive battery, but its just not as premium as the 15/16 Pro in my opinion.

I don’t disagree that when it comes to looks and materials, the 15 Pro and 16 Pro are absolutely gorgeous phones and are nicer looking than anything Apple have on offer at the moment. Even the Air isn’t as appealing to me as those devices.

Given what is currently offered between the 17 Pro Max, the 17 Pro and the Air . . . I choose the Air because of it’s titanium frame and ultra thin chassis. To me the Air looks more premium than the all aluminum body of the 17 Pro series iPhones.

With that said, I have been enjoying my Blue Titanium 15 Pro and for my use case works out very well. I alternate between my 15 Pro and my Black Titanium 16 Pro for my iPhones. I favor the looks and durability of these iPhones over the current 17 Pro series iPhones but this is my preference. To me both the 15 Pro/Pro Max and 16 Pro/Pro Max iPhones project the “premium” look and feel that high end iPhones have come to project. I don’t get that same feeling when looking and/or using the 17 Pro series iPhones.
