My sisters 16 Pro Phone Rebel Gen6 case came with a little dent where the Phone Rebel sign is (circled).
I know it's very little and can hardly be seen but she spent £20 on shipping (very expensive) as well as the price of the case which is why she is thinking to send it back and is being extra picky. She contacted Phone Rebel and they said that they will offer a $20 refund for the defect or she can send the case back (I think they will not pay for the shipping).

Would you send the case back or is the defect very minimal and not worth the hassle?
If it were me... I would take the refund and not reorder. Just write it off as a bad experience and move on. Get a case that can be easily bought, returned, etc. I got a Spigen Ultra Hybrid T for about $20 from Amazon.

It's a partial refund though..So I keep the case with the defect. Ordering cases from the US when you live in the UK can be a big hassle when you want to to return it due to the fact you have to cover the shipping costs!

How is the Spigen. I keep hearing good things about the case. Does it have a nice, tight fit?

I just installed 18.2 yesterday and I’m having fun with the long press of the CC button to load Visual Intelligence. A very cool way to quickly access ChatGPT and Google to get information about objects in the real world via the camera. This seems like it could end up being the primary use case for the button, perhaps more so than normal photography for many people.
More cool ways of using that long press/Intelligence than I knew about...

Here are a few random thoughts on the Arc Pulse after a couple of days.
  • I hadn’t really thought about it until I started using it, but with the Arc, every exposed surface is either glass or metal, which feels so much more premium compared to cases made of the usual materials. But, as you’d expect with these materials, it is very slippery and you have to be aware of the type of surface you’re setting it on, which is a pain in the tuchus.
  • I was at a holiday party last night taking lots of photos and no one noticed the Arc, which was a relief. I guess we’re at the point where the average person is not ogling other people’s phone cases like us weirdos.
  • Access to the raw phone is so good. There are no buttons on any case that approach the feel of the actual buttons on the phone. I think this, combined with some drop protection, is the big selling point for this product and others like it.
  • For the 16PM the Arc weighs 18 grams. For context, the slim Pitaka weighs 22 grams and the Caudabe Sheath weighs 50 grams. This is really noticeable and may be the other big selling point.
  • I’m still feeling a little nervous handling it; that’s a lot of exposed metal and glass! It’s kind of fun though. For me, TPU cases had become sooo boring, so it’s been nice to try something different regardless of whether or not it will stick around for the long haul.
  • I still think it looks kinda’ weird.

Why? You feel the defect isn't that big to send to send the case back?
Personally, yes I would not be bothered to return it over that defect based on the picture (since you asked for opinions). But only you or whoever purchased the case can determine if that is acceptable. Especially if you factor in a discount they are offering (essentially 40% off) versus the cost of return shipping.

No you are right. My sister was leaning towards the same answer!
What case do you use?

My TineeOwl case is out for delivery. I'll post some pics and impressions once it arrives. I've always liked their cases. Very similar quality and unsung hero vibe like the Smartish case lines. But, when Caudabe in the past hit all the marks...we of course opt for the Caudabe. So, I have high hopes.

Damn. I can’t deal with reading another one of these conversations.

Make the decision yourself and do what suits you.

Same ol’ posts. Same ol’ story. It’s also most definitely your case and not ‘your sister‘s’

Muted user now. Can’t take anymore 😂😂

Alright, so my TineeOwl case w/ camera control cover came in about 45 min ago. If you used TineeOwl cases before, then you know what to expect.

Brief overview.

- It has a texture on the back thats a bit more mellow compared to the Sheath but still nice.
- The sides have the dots similar to the Rebel cases, again though, a bit more mellow.
- The inside of lined with microfiber.
- I quite like the rounded action button. It's unique.
- The molded buttons are VERY clicky and tactile and the cut slits for them are one of the thinnest variations.
- It has a proper lip for the camera and all around the sides for lay on table.
- It's a TPU. It's a tad more flimsy than the Sheath's TPU.
- I cannot see the magsafe ring on this case UNLESS I use an LED flashlight and hold it at the right angle. Very minimal and probably rare.
- Quality is very similar to Smartish cases like the GripMunk.

Camera Control Cover: It's a similar design to what the Spigen cases. It's not the same rod style that the Sup cases are using. It's VERY well molded on and around the button. It feels like much better quality compared to some of the others I've seen and tinkered with. Buttons clicks and light clicks work perfect. Slides require a little extra pressure compared to no cover/Apple Silicone.

Residue: There was some kind of sticky residue on the inside of the camera cover button. It came right off when I wiped it with my finger. It was more like sticker residue. I think it was from whatever they are coating that area with some sort of 'soft coat' so it doesn't scratch your control button. It came off and appears fine. The photos included below have the residue on them. Without it, its just black with the dots for the circuit on it.

Bottom line: If you love the Sheath/Synthesis style of a case and have been bummed that Caudabe hasn't released a camera control cover version, then this is by far the best current substitute. It's super cheap at around $16. Unfortunately, color options are very limited. I went with the Stone for the time being.

That's about it for now. It's still very early in using it.

Edit: Oh! You can pop out the camera control cover and pop it back in. So I was able to properly inspect it and clean it completely of that residue mentioned above. It's very solid built little module!

(Not the best photos, my apologies. Horrid lighting. I've got a few sick kiddos so I had to rush..)

I gotta quit looking at this stuff on Amazon. Was checking out the Phone Rebel Air when I saw a deal they were giving if you bought a Gen 6 or a Flex you get free ultra orange component kit. Needless to say the Gen 6 and components are ordered. 😞

Back in the Suti leather this weekend. Best things about it are fully appreciating just how thin the borders are on the 16PM and nothing getting in the way of edge swipes! Anybody who loves the naked phone feeling but wants some basic protection for the back glass will enjoy this case!
