Many people complain that you may need a very large iPhone to get the maximum features, but for my taste it could really be larger. My current phone is still the "Mi Max 3" on the left. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is on the right as a comparison. I have so much gotten used to having a wide phone that it would be hard to go back. On Instagram everything is so much bigger and with Google Earth the additional screen estate is very much appreciated. Unfortunately even Xiaomi does not offer such a large phone any more. That really is a shame. I understand that some people want to use their phone with one hand, but other - including me - prefer two hands. The Mi Max 3 has the perfect size to hold it firm with a hand of a man. Then I can use the other hand to type, click, pinch and whatever. Many gestures require two fingers anyway. How can you pinch one handed? And what do people to with the other hand anyway, if they only use one hand for the phone?

There are so many phones one the market? Why isn't there an option to buy a large phone any more? My nephew was looking for a new phone and I showed him my Mi Max 3 and he immediately liked it and ordered one.

I even thought about buying an iPad mini, but I find it pretty overpriced. It has a good size though for carrying around all day and I do not need it to be able to do phone calls anyway.

Unfortunately companies like Apple only offer an new size if they think that they will sell tens of millions of them. Even five million large screen phones would probably be a too small market for them, as they know that if a large phone is nit available, most of those five million people will buy one of those available sizes, if they can't get the size they want. That is a general problem. Manufacturers only care if a missing feature is so important for a user that he would not buy the phone at all.
Seems a tad insane to complain at such length about iPhones not being large enough when they are indeed getting larger, slowly but surely. It's the smaller, ergonomic, and yes ONE-HANDED sizes we're missing now. Being able to use my phone with one hand is important, so I can multitask comfortably (smoke, drink, flick people off, whatever) and not have to have both my hands constantly on my phone like a damn ape.

Glad you're happy with your Chinese Android or whatever though

Hmm..dropped mine quite a few times and hasn’t shattered yet.
I guess I should've defended 'drop' better) I lightly(from a sitting position) dropped my 6 in a paved backyard — it shattered the entire screen — coming from 2 corners. Had the edges been straight like they have been — it would've likely been fine)

Hopefully the two Pro sizes come with camera parity for the 16. I'm going to be heated if I need to get an even larger phone to get the best camera system - 6.7" was already pushing it.
I know, right? For me, the main improvement I currently want is really the camera experience. I am fine with the current size and features of my iPhone 12 Pro. I really want continually improved camera(s) and don't want to get an even larger phone to accommodate that.

At one point, the size of the iPhone XS was perfect for me and I thought any larger I couldn't handle. When I had to replace the XS, the size available was the 12 Pro and while a bit larger, it was ok. The 12 Pro Max size is too too large.

Yes!!!

I will skip iPhone 15 for sure if these rumours keep coming. Give me that 6.9" iPhone! I feel like my 12 Pro Max is too small at times.

Thanks Apple :D
I could not agree more, I also like larger displays as I consume a lot of media. Also I get to hold on to my 12 pro max for another year, as the 15 pro max already sounds boring.

I love the phablet idea and my 13 Pro Max, but why can’t you increase its capability and use of that space?! 😖

you're comparing an Android phone that came out in 2018 with a phone about to be released next year? really? I really hope you told your nephew that phone was already 4yrs old so he'd know what to expect.

My nephew bought it in 2019 I think. Isn't it annoying though that in 2023 we do not have a size choice that we had in 2018? Not everybody wants a large phone, but there should at least be the choice.

For everyone wanting the mini back….

might be just fake stats. Who the heck is "Consumer Research Intelligence Partners" ? + it's already outdated.

I saw once some stats shared by some blogger and he compared my country on some chart to Syria.
Percentage of iPhone users = 2%. lmao... While truth is about 13% of people (stats on other pages).
edit:
here it is - another fake stats (regarding my country 4 sho):

O.k. for people who like it big. The regular pro is already too big and heavy for my taste (let alone that huge camera hump) - I'd rather not have the "pro" features than a phone I can't use with one hand or comfortably put in trousers' pockets. As a working professional in the AV industry, usability and pocketability are the professional features I value most. Otoh, it will still take some years, until AI gets over the physical limitations of those tiny lenses and sensors.
I put my pro max in my pants pocket all the time. No prob whatsoever.

I have a 13pm and often have it in my shirt pocket. No problem. I recall when using a work provided phone, we had a case that clipped to a belt. No reason for those that say the phone is too big not to consider options that attached the phone to the clothes whether it is a holder with clip or holster etc. Something for everyone.

6.3" is the sweet spot for me, I have that on my Pixel 7 and just that little bit more space does wonders for certain apps and web.

Of course the size increase won't be too much for most with bezels being shrunk each year and having the larger display without having to get the Pro Max is a win in my book.

I'm pretty sure the 16 and 16 plus will stay 6.1" and 6.7" for those who don't want to go bigger.

Let's hope Apple uses the 5.8" X/XS for the next SE and not the XR.
