YES!

Mini owners and lovers THIS is the time, more than any other, that you NEED to raise praise of the iPhone Mini.
mark thread commentary,
media examples/content and send emails, twitter posts, etc etc etc to all Apple staff in charge or works on the iPhone!

Better still, outreach to Apple directly, expressing your love for smaller iPhones:

A near perfect model of this years iphone 15 pro has arrived and leaked and it has surprised everyone because it does NOT have the more “rounded” edges and corners long rumored. Seems to me apple has pushed the visual update out to 2024 with the iPhone 16 along with bigger screens, and this year all we get is slightly smaller bezels sizes and minor cosmetic changes like a matte finish to the edges on the iPhone 15 pro models.

With these incremental increases in size, a mini iPhone would be great. Something slightly smaller than the iPhone X/XS etc.

The 12 mini's battery was too poor for me, so I downgraded to an iPhone 11 Pro, but something just a fraction smaller than that would be the sweet spot.

I doubt it'll happen though.

Everyone talks about wanting a mini but no-one bought it. Give me a big phone or foldable all day.
To quote John Siracusa, Every model of the iPhone can't be the bestseller. It sold in millions and millions of units.

There is value in satisfying this part of the customer-base as well. If you want a big phone Apple is currently serving you three options.

I have a 3GS floating around my home that my kids play with; other than the fact it's unbreakable and bulletproof (wouldn't that be nice to have again?) the form factor is just so great. I'm such a small market for this request but I'd love a smaller phone that *isn't* trying to be a professional camera and can lay flat on a table. The bulges on the 14 Pro are just horrible. So horrible.

Good grief. This is the complete opposite of the trend I want. God I miss the days of 5.8” displays being a “big” phone. I know I’m in the minority but I don’t care. I’ll continue to cast my vote by not buying these gargantuan phones.

We will be in the HD holographic displays era by then, so however big you want it, just like the sci-fi movies with those watches or portable devices that projects an image...maybe just wishful thinking but the oculus headband thing isn't going to cut it, for me at least, anyway 🤞
Ok, count me in :)

I am all for a larger screen but honestly I’d rather have a phone that unfolds for a larger screen at that point. A lot of the time I just want the larger screen for movies.

I’d also like Pencil support please.

And get rid of the island. Making a virtue out of a necessity is fine. But hopefully it isn’t a necessity two generations form now.

If this rumor is true then it looks like the iPhone 16 will be a major redesign.

I wonder what else is going to change? If they are making an iPhone with such a large screen will they change the aspect ratio or shape? I loved the rounded corners when they came out but it seems like a lot of wasted space. If you ever used an s22 or s23 ultra the squared corners really makes a big difference in usable space.

Obviously they will need to increase the battery size.

If they continue to use a stainless steel frame and glass and possibly bigger battery how much will this device weigh?

The current Pro Max is already heavy enough.

I guess Apple will not be making a foldable any time soon with the 6.9" Pro Max.

I generally like bigger screen size but I am on the fence with this unless they use Titanium or a lighter frame.

In my case the bigger the better. If this is true, I will sell my 15 PM to get the 16 PM. 6.9 is perfect, I always found the 6.7 to be a tad too small for my uses.

But on the other hand, if we are going to increase the size of the regular Pro, then we honestly need a 3rd Pro model either a 5.7 or 5.8. My Dad finds the his iPhone 11 is the perfect size and wouldn’t want to go any larger.

We need at least one phone that is under 6.3

What?

Collectively both the iPhone 12 and 13 mini outsold the 30 million target for the SE OG back in 2016. Each had higher ASR (average selling price revenues) than the SE or the regular iPhone and each did this with ABSOLUTELY NO MARKETING from Apple anywhere globally!

Sources are on the news section right here on MacRumors from a few sources quoted.

Your statement doesn’t match historical statistics for either model. Maybe the 13 mini didn’t sell enough to Apple’s needs but that was Apple’s own fault with NO marketing! I’d love to see how well the iPhone 14 Plus would do without any web or print nor Apple site marketing lol. Out of the gate for 1 month production was cut by Apple ! Bigger isn’t alway better, and definitely not for everyone.

Tad too small for your uses?

I’m curious what your uses really are? You realize at 6.9” for an iPhone you’re carrying an iPad mini as a phone.

also the larger screen iPhones barely get anything more significantly useful in the UI for websites, maps, books, and most other apps. Video media in sure has benefitted but the UI and most apps not very much.

The iPhone 11 is a 6.1” screen with
Dimensions150.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm (5.94 x 2.98 x 0.33 in)

The iPhone 14 is also a 6.1” screen with a much smaller Dimensions
146.7 x 71.5 x 7.8 mm (5.78 x 2.81 x 0.31 in)

It would seem your father is more than taken care of for upgrades currently without going larger but actually a smaller and lighter device overall.

For us iPhone mini users we got the same benefit yet with a LOT more:
Smaller device from the 2020/2022 SE, modern chassis, cpu, battery and FaceID with a significantly larger screen, better camera and 2 of them, faster network bandwidth and much more. It was definitely worth the price increase over the SE’s and better build quality with larger storage options (I chose 512GB on the 13 mini I own and use daily).

The 1 phone under 6.3” currently would be an SE but that doesn’t cut it for 12/13 mini users in the current form by a long shot!

Everyone talks about wanting a mini but no-one bought it. Give me a big phone or foldable all day.

I did buy it (see my post #204) and would happily buy it again. In fact, I would buy any modern and feature rich iPhone with a screen size smaller than 6”. Something around 5.7”-5.8” would be ideal, IMO, and it should be quite easy for Apple to bring them back. That iPhone 11 Pro had a wild battery life for its size, for example, so imagine that with a modern chip, enough RAM, USB-C, etc. What is there not to like? If you like bigger phones, this is totally fine by me, but the more choices we have, the better.

Many people complain that you may need a very large iPhone to get the maximum features, but for my taste it could really be larger. My current phone is still the "Mi Max 3" on the left. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is on the right as a comparison. I have so much gotten used to having a wide phone that it would be hard to go back. On Instagram everything is so much bigger and with Google Earth the additional screen estate is very much appreciated. Unfortunately even Xiaomi does not offer such a large phone any more. That really is a shame. I understand that some people want to use their phone with one hand, but other - including me - prefer two hands. The Mi Max 3 has the perfect size to hold it firm with a hand of a man. Then I can use the other hand to type, click, pinch and whatever. Many gestures require two fingers anyway. How can you pinch one handed? And what do people to with the other hand anyway, if they only use one hand for the phone?

There are so many phones one the market? Why isn't there an option to buy a large phone any more? My nephew was looking for a new phone and I showed him my Mi Max 3 and he immediately liked it and ordered one.

I even thought about buying an iPad mini, but I find it pretty overpriced. It has a good size though for carrying around all day and I do not need it to be able to do phone calls anyway.

Unfortunately companies like Apple only offer an new size if they think that they will sell tens of millions of them. Even five million large screen phones would probably be a too small market for them, as they know that if a large phone is nit available, most of those five million people will buy one of those available sizes, if they can't get the size they want. That is a general problem. Manufacturers only care if a missing feature is so important for a user that he would not buy the phone at all.
