Good afternoon. I have an iPhone 16 pro Max with iOS 18.0.1. I began to notice that my battery life was terrible. Going down 1% every minute during a phone call. I have updated the phone as a new device and the problem remains the same or worse, now every time I take a picture the battery goes down 1% with each photo! I've modified all possible settings to improve battery life and it's still a disaster! Any recommendation? I still have time to return the phone...

Chargerd to 90%. 28 Hours later at 20%. 5 hours total screentime (and 6 hours of sleeping connected to AW). Not sure how good this is, I feel like it should be better (1 hour screentime = 5% - 10% battery)

Wow, you literally only used it from time to time from 15-20 min each hour. And 4 hour is truly pathetic

My 16PM battery is really all over the place. I tend to use my phone the same amount of time most days. I tend to wake up in the morning with it being on 100% at 7am. Sometimes by say 3pm, it’s on 70+ % still, other times it can be down to 40% without any changes in settings etc.

18.3b1 has resolved this issue for me. Hopefully it stays that way. First time since owning the 16PM that I haven't had to charge it in 24 hours. 14 hours since my last charge, and battery has gone from 80% to 49%. Could be a little better, but magnitudes better than before (There were some morning I would take my phone off the charger at 80%, and within 5-10 minutes I would lose 2-3% when doing virtually nothing).

Honestly for a Brand new phone I’m not impressed. I couldn’t do the 80% max charge, too stressful. Doing the 90% max charge is also anxiety inducing. I am fearful I won’t make it the entire day. And I constantly consider if I would be better off sticking to 100%

I gave up on the charge limit because yes it was anxiety inducing 😂 It was like having a degraded battery in day 1. I went back to optimized charging and don’t regret that!

Hi guys, I would like to share the battery health status of my iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 18.2 in case anyone can help you.my iPhone still has a few cycles but I'm surprised that it's still at 104% of health. The battery is a Desay brand, manufactured in September.
I always use the original 240W Apple cable and the original 18W Apple charger, the one that came with the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It never exceeds 32 degrees of temperature when charging. I think this is the balance between speed and NOT premature battery degradation. I charge from 20% to 90% and once a week to 100%.

That’s pretty cool. I think you should check the health once a month then document it along with the cycle count. Make a graph showing the health along with battery cycles. This would be good research for people to compare their battery health with similar age and cycles.

Ok, in 1 month I will post again the health status, cycles, iOS version, and % battery health in the iPhone menu.

Apple adds a chemical aging factor (ChemicalWeightedRa) and temperature factor (AverageTemperature) before determining battery capacity. You can find these values in the analytics log.

That's why third party tools will be different compared to Apple's number in iOS.
