Makes one wonder why they even bothered with the Mini model.
iPhone 11 $699

iPhone 12 mini $699
iPhone 12 $799

iPhone 14 mini
iPhone 14 $799
iPhone 14 plus $899

Profit, with iPhone ASP in the US now at $988. And by articles here, Tim Cook doesn’t plan to add ProMotion/AOD/256GB base storage to the non-pro models any time soon.

It would be REALLY cool if the iPhone 16 screen would support the Apple Pencil.

Just a correction: the article says the display size is increasing by 2.5%, but that is just the increase in the diagonals - the display size (area) will be about 5% larger. It looks like the width will go up by about 1mm and the height by 3-4mm.

Wait for the iPhone 27 for the real upgrade.
Why would I use an unsupported iPhone until 2038? The iPhone X will be supported until late 2025 with security updates. So I am maxing out the value of my purchase. If Apple says its still supported and it happens to be my money in my checking account, shouldn't be hard for me to decide when to upgrade. Posting on Macrumors and taking pictures of flowers doesn't really require the latest and greatest.

The difference between 19.5:9 and 19.6:9 aspect ratio is actually pretty small (not surprising). I actually think I like this change (still would have preferred 19.5:9). The important thing is that with the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max we'll regain the vertical space lost to the dynamic island in the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Based on this (if the rumor is actually correct) I’m happy to wait for the iPhone 16 Pro Max/Ultra.
