Hello Apple nobody cares about how thin the iPhone 17. Well Apple go for the rollable iPhone. Be innovative in the designs.

Would the cellular modem find its way into Mac products at some point? I caught the paragraph that Apple might build the modem into the SOC package.

I don’t see the appeal. What exactly is the benefit of a very thin phone? I’d understand if current iPhones were uncomfortably thick or heavy, but they aren’t.
They aren’t? 🤭
For me, anything thicker and heavier than an iPhone 13 mini is uncomfortable in comparison. 🤷‍♂️

This phone makes total sense if you consider the rumours that Apple will add Pro-Motion to the standard phones next year. Then the "17 Plus" would cannibalise too many sales of the 17 Pro Max and Apple can't have that, so the obvious way is to turn it into this 17 Air and gimp the hell out of while making it seem premium because it's "thin".

ok, so to um up, less battery, less camera and more heat if pushed? did I miss something? Oh, I forgot! Higher price. If this is not a great deal then I don't know what is.

Everyone- Asks for better battery life on the iphone.
Apple- Best we can do is a thinner device.

Not sure why the anti-thin crowd. I suggest when they drag you into the store against your will and hold a gun to your head; you resist. Never give in.

Me personally love my 13 mini. It’s small and thin and perfect. If they’d just update the cpu, screen for 120hz annd brightness, battery tech, usb c, and cameras of the 15/16pro I’d buy another one tomorrow. Sounds like a lot but really it’s just incremental updates that would cure its shortcomings. Primarily it’s thermal issues. If they’d 13mini didn’t run hot(almost like it’s bugged) it’d be perfect still. Trying to use CarPlay while charging makes it overheat. If they’d 13mini didn’t could fix that they’d have a real winner.

I’m writing this on my 15pro that I run caseless because of the thickness. Just feels much better without. If it wasn’t for the camera on 15pro I’d still use the 13mini. All the AI stuff is just ********.

It's status quo thinking to imply that better battery life has to equal thicker iPhone. Maybe Apple has found a way to make the iPhone thinner / lighter without sacrificing battery life. Think outside the box a little bit. It'll do you wonders.

Not for me

But replace “Thinness ” with “Lighter weight” it might sound more appealing.
They’ll go hand in hand. To feel like a premium product it needs a certain amount of density.

It needs to have “enough” weight for it’s volume, and I’m sure Apple has calculated exactly how much that is. This is part of the reason the pro phones “feel” more premium than the non-pro, they’re the same size but weigh more, esp when they were stainless steel

If they were just lighter they would feel too hollow, like the door of a kia vs a Mercedes. If you’re gonna charge Mercedes prices you have to make the buyer feel like they’re getting something substantial

Honestly, I think the 13 mini is a perfect phone. It's excellent in portability, weight, size, and even the screen for me is totally fine. I wish they'd make an updated version with a new chip and better battery. I don't use it on CarPlay so I wouldn't know if it overheats, but it has never overheated for me.

I am skeptical that Apple could do this in 2025. Maybe 2026, when better battery technology, a smaller circuit board and better display technology are available. In short, we'll see an iPhone 17 Plus model next year before the iPhone 18 Air arrives in 2026.

Does anyone really care about thinness anymore?
Absolutely not. They are so fixated on thinness that they start to forget about functionality. Not good. I think that’s what happened with the butterfly keyboard.

Ah yes, apple has defied the laws of physics. Wild the amount of mental gymnastics some of you try to do in order to paint apple in a good light.

Apple is currently working on revamping its iPhone manufacturing process to allow everyone to customize their own model. You'll be able to specify exactly how thin, wide, and tall you want yours to be, number of cameras and thickness of the bump, et voila.

You heard it here first, maybe.
