Phone rebel in the building!

Easily my favorite case so far. This takes “feels good in the hand” to the next level. Perfect weight, size, grip, back feel. I ordered the orange buttons and plateau border but haven’t installed the border yet. Just the buttons. I may even change the rebel logo piece back to the default black one. I also ordered the black plateau cover but idk how I feel about the big gen7 branding and also heard that it may scuff up the aluminum on the phone. I can see a fraction of a millimeter width wise of the top orange bezel but it’s such a tiny amount that I don’t notice it and it still looks fully blacked out in the front. Super strong magnet too.

One thing I did find weird is that by default it came with all black buttons except for one, the small action button. The orange button kit already includes an orange action button so now I have two of them but I wish it came with a black action button to mix and match with.

A better plateau cover without the branding would make it the perfect case for me.

Out of all the cases I tried so far, here is how I rank them from best to worse:
Phone rebel gen7, Torras ostand q3 spin (Best Buy version), caudabe paragon, caudabe sheath, Torras q3 air, ringke onyx. View attachment 2589391
Rebel case is nice until you touch it and the fingerprints rear their ugly head  I changed my logo and camera ring back to black also. I had too much orange going on.

No fingerprints so far but I haven’t done the fried chicken test yet 😂 I’m sure that’s a drawback but not a deal breaking one for me. I like that it’s not too slippery either.
Did you try the black plateau cover on it?

I ordered the Gen 7 plateau cover and it'll be here tomorrow, but I don't think I'm gonna install it and will return it (Amazon). I'm hopeful PR will release other colors of the stock camera frame, particularly silver. I'm surprised they haven't yet.

Thanks so much for this photo. You just saved me from wasting time installing the orange ring only to revert back to the black one which looks much better imo.

No, not a fan of that huge metal plate rubbing up against my camera plateau. I will try to put a clear skin on it’s back and then I’ll try it.

it wont damage your plateau i ran it for over a week on my frosted flex without any plateau protection and its fine. its not constantly rubbing against the plateau there is zero movement with the case on quit worrying so much and just enjoy the phone

it doesn't effect the cooling one bit if anythiny any heat would just transfer to it since it is also aluminium. it does however slightly affect cellular connectivity but not enough to make a big difference
I meant to ask if it affects the cooling with a skin inside.

oh no it does not as i had a goku skin on my phone for a bit with a skin on the plateau and i didnt notice anything different. i have both the aramid flex and frosted flex, back when i was running the aramid flex i had the skin but had taken off the plateau skin for the frosted flex.

Rhinoshield AirX Flux Grey finally arrived. I don’t think anybody else here is interested in this case but I was really looking forward to it. I love sorta clear/frosted rugged cases (my most favorite case I ever had was a frosted Catalyst Influence case for my 12PM).
Now with the Rhinoshield.. I‘m not totally in love, yet. It is certainly beefy and protective and even nice to hold, once you get past the initial „holy 💩 this is massive”. It's bigger than the Beats Rugged.
But the buttons? Certainly a choice. Embedded in the case so nothing protrudes outward except for little ridges. They are clicky though once you find them 😂 Hard to press right out the box. Handling it now for about half an hour, one gets used to the buttons. It's not horrible. I'd say click feeling is on par with the Apple Silicone.
Getting the phone in is a bit of a struggle as it’s really tight and you also have to be careful with the CC button because it pops out. I had to redo it the first time because the button was sorta askew and kept pressing itself. Getting the phone back out was thankfully easy. Second try is perfect now. Button works fine.
The case has raised edges at the top and the bottom on both the front and the back. So no wobbling and the screen never touches the table. Looking at drop tests from previous generations of this case... it's impressive?
Being frosted though, it will probably grease up after some time. It's also not the most grippy. It's a 100% TPE Monocase, so contains no BPA and is recyclable.
It's a keeper for me and I happily support Rhinoshield's endeavour for a more sustainable industry.
ETA: MagSafe is also super strong. Big USB cutout will fit the beefiest cables.

That looks good on the silver. I like the fact that the MagSafe ring makes a complete circle instead of having a cutout for the logo.
