@Zensō I ordered the Pitaka Summa case in black/gray.

You were right it’s metal on the inside and tpu on the exterior of the camera plateau for the Pitaka Summa case.

It reminds me of the old Evutec case, I loved that case.

I do really like it but the fit is loose around the screen by the camera control button and I can see some of my silver frame no matter how much I push it in. The power button area is the same but not as bad. For $80 imo that’s unacceptable.

Not sure if it’s a faulty unit but not sure I want to play the chase game of waiting to try another to see if it’s right.

You got any pics of this case ? I report on mine when I get mine at some point next week. I have only recently joined Team Pitaka and I still have mine on my Air atm.

Cool, so it’s the same as the old “Pro”. That was a beauty of a case (other than the fingerprints).

Bummer about the fit. I never had trouble with the Summa equivalent over the past couple of years, so it may just be a one-off problem. I hear you about not wanting to play the case lottery though, it gets tiring.

In general, I’ve had pretty good luck with Pitaka quality control, as good or better than most of their main competitors such as Caudabe, Benks, Phone Rebel, and Mous.

Help! Don't know what I've done but when I now type a message "it" speaks every letter and word? Any idea how to turn it off? Thanks

AI is useful; To stop your iPhone from speaking while typing in iOS 26, go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards and Typing > Typing Feedback and toggle off Characters, Character Hints, Speak Words, and Speak Auto-text.

There you go, it’s a nice case. Slim and lightweight. Barely any front lip, I don’t use screen protectors so there’s a very small lip but I imagine with one on, there would barely be any lip at all. That’s a non issue for me but definitely something to note.

It’s really pricey, smudges really quickly and requires a pretty constant wipe down with a moist cloth as the smudges kind of stick to it if you want it to be pristine.

Its “Edge” counterpart is less fingerprint prone since it’s a hard shell vs the soft feeling of the “Summa”. Also there’s a slight texture on the Edge version (nothing like 1500D but 600D on the Edge series still has texture) while the Summa is completely smooth hence more smudge prone.

One last thing to note the Black/Gray color is deeper black on the Edge vs the Summa.

Also the inconsistencies in the fit mostly to the right side of the case looking at the screen around the camera control and power button are unacceptable for its price range. There are more affordable cases that have a more consistent fit.

Overall a nice case just hard to accept its $80 price tag with its flaws.

Thanks for the info and I will look out for these on mine when I get it.

I got it for £50 ish which is the same price I paid for my Air Edge Pitaka tbh.

I caved (because of all you) ordered the sheath, took it out of the packaging and they sent me a used case, there is wear on the back of the case and lip around the front, including some liquid splatter on a corner from who knows what. I am so disappointed. I was truly looking forward to it so much and I ordered the celestial buttons to go with it. I already emailed Caudabe, waiting to hear back.

Ah Evutec, the first to use aramid in cases. IIRC, they had outsourced a company for their aramid and that company eventually said, we can make cases on our own too...and Pitaka was born. When you think about it, their ballistic nylon cases are the precursor to Apple's TW cases.

No CC button though 😄

Never owned the original iPhone. I started with the iPhone 3G and been using iPhones since.

I was into “jailbreaking” at the time and would get features on my phone from Cydia (it was the jailbreak AppStore) way before Apple decided to release them. Anybody else?

Me and some of my old friends would nerd out on all the features and when Apple finally decided to release more features into iOS I always remember being like I’ve been using this already for a while now, finally Apple! lol

What was everyone’s first iPhone?

I was also into that back in the day.

My first iPhone was the 4S and I absolutely loved it. Before that, I was using android… never again

I was late to the party: iPhone 4. Prior to that I carried a work issued BlackBerry.
