Two beautiful cases arrived today.
1) The Flolab in Stealth Black Clear that I ordered about three weeks ago, which is just a joy to hold.

It’s a fingerprint magnet, for sure. But easy to clean again. And grippier than the frosted version. Love it.

2) The Torras Q3 Air in Purple Aurora.

I had the Q3 Air here before the phone was released but returned it because I was not happy with a few things (the price among them). They have since changed one of those things (covered the ring base inside the case with some sort of rubber cover) and came out with new colors and then I remembered I'm an adult with adult money and can buy what I want 🤪🥰 It came with orange plastic buttons installed, but aluminium buttons that match the color of the ring were included. Swapping those was not easy and they rattle a little, but they look so much better. I’m a fan. It feels almost minimalist, even though it’s pretty heavy. So pretty though 😍
Does the ring/stand not feel too pronounced? I was never a fan of the look on cases with a stand or the feel, but honestly didn’t realize how much I do want to put my phone on a stand in day to day use lol

When folded in, it sits pretty flush with the back of the case. So you can feel it when holding, but it’s not really sticking out.

Edit: I have phone stands (magnetic and non-magnetic) on almost all tables in the house 😂 I don’t know how I lived without them for so long lol. The magnetic ring on the Torras is very convenient, I have to say.

I ordered the Smartish Gripmunk in Black Tie Affair and sadly had to return it. Such a nice case - the grip was so comfortable and good (especially after using the more sandpaper feel of the Spigen Rugged Armour) and it was a nice and lightweight case. But the back of the case seemed to have some kind of Microparticles in which sparkled even in the dark and it just made me not like the look of the case. Such a shame.

So I finally decided to try the Mous Limitless Aramid Fibre and it's really nice so far. The sides of the case have a slight gloss to them but it's not sparkly or too glossy and the whole case just feels nice and is very comfortable.

Lol nice def going to check it out 👍

Really disappointing new drop of cases for the 17 Pro. Only 2 new colours for the Pro, first time they didn’t actually give us a new blue, and besides that looks like neither Guava or Vanilla look like a decent match for the Deep Blue Pro. As someone with the Deep Blue looking for a new colour to try, I’d rather just try one of the older colours which have been proven to be good match for DB, such as Purple Fog or Terra Cotta.

In contrast, last years 16 Pro got 4 new nice colours for Spring…. Maybe it’s a sign of the times that these Spring cases haven’t been selling as well in recent years.

Yeah I’m surprised we only got 2 this year. I feel like vanilla could look good with the deep blue but I guess it just depends on how it actually looks IRL. You definitely can’t go wrong with purple fog or terra cotta, though. I’m still using the midnight for my silver but may pick up the vanilla down the road.

Vanilla does look like a match made in heaven for the Silver Pro however

I know that’s for the Air. If we don’t want to spend $50 or so on the TW as I’ll probably get a Paragon, are those TW cases from Aliexpress at least decent and somewhat close to the real ones? Even the real ones don’t offer crazy drop protection so it’s not like they are tanks and super premium.
I’m gonna find out. I got a black one for my Air coming. Not the same one as the member you quoted. Ordered yesterday. $1.46 total shipped. If it sucks, who cares? If it’s any good, heck of a deal. 😎

I actually like the Bright Guava, but I don’t know if I want to buy another case knowing I’m not going to use it, and I might upgrade next year, plus I hate how the silicon cases collect lint and turn my pockets inside out.

I'm envious of the silver phone now lol. They go with any case! My orange phone.. eh lol.

So gonna pull the trigger on the Paragon hopefully the slick back doesn’t bother me and feel too slippery. Is 15% off the best discount available?

Edit: ugh looks like 15UNFILTERD doesn’t work it was working a few days ago

So I did a thing...

Company bought me a new phone (mine to keep).. went with 17PM (512) in blue... Came with Techwoven, added Pitaka. May need to ignore this thread and stick with these two cases only... the PM is certainly big in the hand... thin cases like Pitaka make sense. (for me)

Now the conundrum... I think I have 8-9 or so for my Pro? Maybe, just maybe will grab the PM version of 1-2 of these:

My ranking
  1. Pitaka Sunset
  2. Thinborne Red
  3. Pitaka Blue "Year of Horse"
  4. Apple Sienna Techwoven
  5. Caudabe Sheath (Blue)
  6. Caudabe Sheath (Black)
  7. Pitaka Glints of Gold
  8. Andar Aspen Tech Purp
  9. Spigen Ultra Hybrid (Matte black)
  10. Ali Express Special in Orange
The blue Thinborne does look nice.. ugh, decisions decisions.

Off to eBay with the 17P and cases.. seems a better option to sell as a bundle, tried to sell cases here in the past and zero action.

Pick me one... just one case for my PM. Size matters.. Caudabe Paragon? DBrand?

Edit: I knew the count was 10.. forgot the Sienna Tecwoven (added to rankings)

After a month of not finding the perfect case gonna try the Paragon looks clean enough

I’ve spent more continuous time in the Phone Rebel Gen 7 than in any other case this year. The main reason is that it’s so shallow, maintaining a thinner profile than any case other than the ultra-thin aramid options, which offer virtually no drop protection. It’s also very comfortable in the hand, with smooth edges all around and just the right amount of grip along the sides. It took four copies to get a perfectly clean one (which was pretty frustrating), but once you have a good unit, it’s hard to beat if you’re looking for a protective case for the Air. At 47 grams, it’s hefty, but the thin profile and good grip make it feel lighter than it actually is.

I also really like the Mous Limitless, which is excellent this year (the build quality is super). It’s narrower left to right than the Phone Rebel, but with its significantly higher screen lip—particularly at the top and bottom—it feels much thicker in the hand. It’s also more squared off along the back edge, which makes it slightly less comfortable. At 43 grams, it’s lighter, but the greater depth makes it feel bulkier (it’s interesting how grip affects the perception of weight). It’s an awesome case, though.

The ultra-thin Pitaka Edge is really in a different class from these other two cases. The level of drop protection is near zero, which functionally places it closer to a skin than a true case. At around 20 grams, it feels amazing in the hand, but it forces you to be more careful than you would with a protective case, which can get tiring at times (for me). I still like it a lot and sometimes use it around the house. The balance of thinness and protection that the Gen 7 provides is winning me over though, and it’s on my phone nearly full time now.

Now that the Gen 7 and Edge are dominating the rotation, I need to start thinking about getting rid of my remaining ~15 cases that aren’t getting used. 😅

It was between the Paragon and Gen 7 for me idk the Gen 7 looks so damn cheap to me though. Looks like a basic TPU case from Amazon.

Caudabe has better marketing photos and branding for sure. That’s about it though. On all other levels they’re equal but different in various ways.

The reality is that you can talk and read about these things all day long, but ultimately you have to try a case to really know if it’ll work for you. I’d order both and expect to return at least one…

Definitely I’m sure it’s great it’s always a top 3 rated case in almost all reviews Ive came across. Just ordered the Paragon if I don’t like it I’ll probably give it a shot and maybe it’ll stick off feel. Not a fan of the looks or how heavy it seems but if the feel and fit is good it probably doesn’t seem heavy.

May do the same...

Lineup maybe:

Pitaka Edge - Daily Driver
Apple TW - Traveling (en route) * I have the crossbody strap and when traveling it has proven invaluable
Caudabe Paragon? - A little more rugged when out and about? (Unfortunately Azurite is out until mid month)

Agreed. As we’ve seen on here, plenty of us like a case while others don’t like it at all. If you’re really interested in a specific one, it’s worth it to just order it and see what you think about it.

Don’t get me wrong, the Paragon is a nice case—it was one of my favorites last year—and I’d have one if they gave a hoot about the Air, which apparently they don’t. The Rebel is up there too though, despite their less attractive marketing materials and packaging (I couldn’t care less about fancy boxes). It’s only one data point, but I’ve had more quality control issues with Caudabe than Rebel over the past few years…
