Which issue do you mean? Clicking lenses or hissing sound? 17 is a brand new camera. Have the same hissing sound on a 15PM and a IPhone 14.Testing 16 Pro and 17 Pro and the issue is only with the new 17 Pro. But maybe some software glitches?!
Rattling Click. Never had this kind of sound with a 15 or 16Pro. Something different.Clicking lenses or hissing sound?
Rattling lenses of the camera unit is off is quite normal. As mentioned above: This is a completely new camera.Rattling Click. Never had this kind of sound with a 15 or 16Pro. Something different.
I would say it’s abnormal. I tried a few phones at the store. None had it. It’s loud enough to be heard from 1 meter away in a silent room. I could even feel the vibration (not haptic)Rattling lenses of the camera unit is off is quite normal. As mentioned above: This is a completely new camera.
That’s very loud, I agree.I would say it’s abnormal. I tried a few phones at the store. None had it. It’s loud enough to be heard from 1 meter away in a silent room. I could even feel the vibration (not haptic)
Anyone have a short test video they could link that has the hissing sound in the video? This wouldn't bother me, until posters said that recording video also records the hissing sound.
That's not good.
How do you reproduce this issue on the Air?I currently have a 15PM, an Air and a 17P, and all thee of them do it. Clearly normal.
A loud or faint sound on the camera app. Could be the lens stabilizer starting its‘On my iPhone 17 Pro Max (256 GB, deep blue) I have a clicking sound (following by a very faint crackling-like sound) when tapping the display to turn the screen on (probably related to Face ID). I also have a clicking sound when launching the camera app and when switching between lenses.
Good catch! And since most of us started using the phone after this update, we wouldn’t be aware of the pre-update status of this issue either.I’m hoping it’s software related as it was not doing it out of the box; it only started doing it following the update to iOS 26 (23A345), which would explain why it only seems to be the Pros that are affected as that day one update was specific to those models, see this link
My 17 Base has it and I bought it yesterday. Today I noticed that were was an update available (has to be the same as the one you posted). No change. Before and after the same issue.I’m hoping it’s software related as it was not doing it out of the box; it only started doing it following the update to iOS 26 (23A345), which would explain why it only seems to be the Pros that are affected as that day one update was specific to those models, see this link
