I'm almost certain I didn't have that clicking noise on my old iPhone 15 Plus.
Yeah you’re right same for my 15 PM. I’m sure there’s no moving part in the 17 sensor which is why it’s weird. And even if there were moving parts, the front camera is not on when Face ID is used…

The click is in fact coming from the speaker not the camera sensor ! Listen closely everyone. It’s like the speaker turns on with a soft blank noise when Face ID or front camera is triggered

I'm also having this issue, along with the noise while charging. I reported it to Apple, but they prioritized the charging issue. If anyone has any information about the camera issue being reported, any information would be appreciated.

Initially, they asked me if the camera noise occurred only in the Camera app or also in other apps like Messenger, WhatsApp, etc. I replied that it occurs in all apps. Then, I noticed that when I was in the Camera app, there were clicks when switching cameras, but when I switched to the front camera, the constant noise disappeared. After that, they didn't ask any more questions about it.

For your information, the clicking noise when activating FaceID is still present (although slightly less audible than before) on my iPhone 17 base running iOS 26.1 final version…

Hello everyone. I also faced the problem of "clicking" when turning on the camera. And this click still feels tactilely, as if it clicks into the body. Please, who has the same problem when turning on the camera, could you send a video where you can hear this click to compare how much I have exactly the same problem?

Yes the sound does seem to come from the front earpiece speaker......

The clicking noise from the rear camera is normal; it's the OIS starting up. My iPhone 12 mini made the same noise when the camera was activated. It's the very slight noise when FaceID is activated, only present on the 17 models, which makes no sense and for which we expect a fix or at least an explanation from Apple.

But it's like I have not only a click, but also some kind of mechanical effect that I feel from a click (it happens once in a while, not always)
