iPhone 17 Pro Max (with SIM tray)

Whilst it's not terrible, I haven't been at all blown away by the battery life, and it seems noticeably worse than my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Literally, the percentage drops by a few percentage points every time I interact with the phone. Listened to Spotify for 25 minutes over 5G and Bose QC Ultimate Headphones and lost 5% instantly. Another example, iPhone in my pocket, screen is always off, check back 5 minutes later and it's lost 1%, another 5 minutes and another 1%. In the space of 1 hour, not doing anything at all demanding apart from 25 mins of Bluetooth headphones, I lose 10% of my battery. Worth noting, I have Always On Display switched off.

I have now even wiped the phone, reinstalled iOS 26 via my Mac, and set up the iPhone as new, so as not to restore a backup, and still the battery drains faster than I expected. I also have an Apple watch, which I am now suspicious is taking a disproportionate draw from the iPhone battery, but I will go out one day minus the watch to see if that makes a difference.

Looking at my Stats, have now had 37 minutes of screen time and used 10% of my battery - screen brightness about 1/3rd from the bottom, just checking emails and FB kind of activity.

Just unboxed a Sage iPhone 17 for my mum. Out of the box cycle count is 1 and the battery health is 102.1% from the coconut battery app. Battery maximum capacity is 3732 mAh.

Not sure why my battery life is so poor. Barely any usage and it’s down to 72%. Are you guys seeing good battery life on your 17 Pro Max? For me it’s equal to the 16 Pro Max, no better or worse. I guess maybe I was expecting too much since they strapped this massive battery in the phone.

That looks appalling, but yeah, I’d like more information. Apps used? Brightness? Heavy settings like background app refresh and push mail? Cellular or Wi-Fi?

Here is my usage, which isn't that much honestly. I used Tik/Tok the most while on the treadmill walking this morning but everything else has been light as I've been in my home office most of the day using my laptop. The battery life is pure garbage.

TikTok is a battery killer. If you use it with speakers, even worse.

I have a 14PM. Can somebody tell me if the base 17, Pro and Air are better, the same or worst in real life? I am a light normal user. I still get two days with 20% left with mine at 91% capacity.

17 Pro Max with psychical SIM. Not totally impressed by the battery life, I was expecting something more. Maybe iOS 26.1 will improve things.
Here’s a usage screenshot for today, nearly all 5G with some photos and videos

Hello friends, I'm sharing the battery information for my iPhone 17 Pro Max, silver, 512GB, physical SIM model. It's a Huapu Technology battery, with a maximum capacity of 4952 mAh and a current reading of 103.9% as of November 9th. When I first got it, it was at 102.1%, but the percentage has increased with each charge cycle, and with iOS 26.1, it lasts considerably longer.

I’m just gonna say, I see zero battery difference between my iPhone 15 pro, and the 17 pro. I definitely have upgrade remorse right now. It’s a disgrace. I basically have everything turned off. Great device to have to turn everything off to barely get 6.5 hours of battery life.

30 days with my 17 Pro Max. Battery health is at 100% with 14 cycles. Very satisfied with the battery life on my new iPhone.
