They’ll drop the XR and continue selling the 11 when the 12s drop.
My concern is though they would be introducing a 5.4 inch device so there would be three phones launching. Will there be room in the lineup for the 11 to stay...

This would be a shame as I would be looking to set up finance payments at the XR price point but want the 11 when it drops..

That’s what the iPad Pros started with, the 128gb, I’ve been upgrading to the 256go each year, but I’m well below 128gb, so that’s how I could save money. I use a little more space with my iPads for downloaded movies and such. Although coming from the Xs Pro Max 2 cam and taking LOTS of photos with an actual camera, I may want to get the 256 again as I know I’ll use the wide angle cam tons. I won’t have to carry around my DSLR on trips or hiking, etc. I did skip the 11 pro max and that was hard for me...

They always keep one or two phones from previous year when they release new phones.

Can see the 11 getting a price cut like the XR did last year.

Lineup will be

Iphone se budget phone
Iphone 11 slightly discounted

Iphone 12 5.4 inch
Iphone 12 6.1 inch

Iphone 12 pro 6.1 inch
Iphone 12 pro 6.7 inch

Could be wrong though 😂

Rumoured resolution difference between the 6.1” 12 & 12 Pro??

Be interesting to know since they're all getting oled screens.

Can see apple using the higher nits and higher res oled screen in the pro models for marketing and price purposes.

Non pro should get a decent 1080p oled screen like the smaller note 10 and smaller one plus 8.

Do we think the 11 will still be for sale at apple directly? Or will they drop it?

Considering the fact that they will release four new models, + the new SE (and possibly the SE Plus), i'm gonna say it'll be removed from the late 2020 lineup. But we'll see.

Jon pretty much confirmed only pros will be getting pro motion. Not that it’s a surprise.

As others have mentioned, I think the 11 staying or going depends on the rumored SE+. If that actually is real, I see no way the 11 stays.

I think the 11 will stay. It's the iPhone XR that'll get kicked to the curb.

At one point, we had a lineup consisting of:

iPhone 7/7+
iPhone 8/8+
iPhone XR

The 11 replaces the 8+. The slot for 7+ would go to either SE+ or XR.

It is so hard to know with Apple. They stopped selling the X when the XS was released.

I expect the rules for $1000 phones are different. :p

Majority of the high end target market will not be willing to pay $899 for the X when the new XS is available for $999.

Meanwhile, plenty of folks in the mainstream market who would happily save the $100 opting for XR over 11. Particularly so in other nations where income isn't as high as in the US.

11 Pro Max currently. Thinking about going 6.1 Pro. Will need to see dimension comparisons between the 11 Pro Max and the new 6.7 first. I don’t need anything wider than what I have now. Either way, Pro is the only option for me.

These prices will be very competitive, especially if 128GB comes as standard.

The iPhone 12 6.1” looks like the sweet spot in the line up and a decent price too at £749. I like the larger form factor now after having an 8+. If I get it it’ll be the first tile since the iPhone 6 where I’ve bought a current years iPhone.

iPhone SE: $399

iPhone 11: $549

iPhone 12 5.4”: $649
iPhone 12 6.1”: $749
iPhone 12 Pro 6.1”: $999
iPhone 12 Pro 6.7”: $1099

That's too low for iPhone 11. Around $599 (same as XR now) is what I'd expect.

will the sales for it be moving it’s only $50 less than the 12?
Has there been products by iphones that the latest and the older one is separated by $50 gap in pricing?

At different sizes, yes. Last gen Plus phones were generally the same price as latest gen 4.7" iPhone.

The latest gen here is $749 iPhone 12 6.1", not $649 iPhone 12 5.4".

iPhone 12 could offer 128GB as base model keeping up with the competition, while SE, XR and 11 start at 64GB, so that factor should also considered in pricing.

$649 for the 5.4" could be solid.

Especially if it all starts at 128GB but I'm doubtful.
Yeah agreed. Would love to hear some expected starting capacities. I assume the pro models are starting at 128 (same as iPad Pro), but I wonder if the non-pro models will also.

the screen size of the iPhone 12 pro 6.1 size will feel grate and the sweet spot for me at last the 5.8" iPhone will be up too a size of the same iPhone 11 I have now and I can long last get the pro model

I Think you mean 128 GB would be the standard for the more expensive iPhone models, but with Apples lower tiered iPhones, you’re still looking at 64 GB for an entry level. And I’ve said it many times over, I think 64 GB is still plenty sufficient for the majority of consumers. Apples ‘price point’ differences between storage models is relatively steep, and that’s why consumers tend to opt for the base entry-level model to save the additional money and/or they Can’t justify the added monthly payment for the phone for the higher storage model.

But I’m sure people said exactly the same when the base was 8, then 16, 32, etc. It has to go up eventually and other companies have already made the move. You’re right that it probably won’t go up this year however.

Is the LIDAR sensor likely to do anything useful? Does anyone with the iPad Pro find it a benefit? I'm wondering if it's one of Apple's short-term enthusiasms like 3D Touch, absolutely great until it's dropped without explanation.
