Try taking the SIM card out while the phone is on and replacing it and switching on and off Airplane Mode. It might be that a certain amount of time had to pass by before it worked. I'm not sure what the common thread is yet.

I am on a non-iPhone text plan, so that isn't my particular problem when it comes to restarting the phone and having no MMS again.

Yea.
Not sure what it is.
But mine was working. Then stopped. But working again.
:)

okay i tried everything pretty much

1. tried to send/receive from people from different carriers
2. called my boy at at&t and tried to have him add a MMS PPU (pay per use) feature on top of my family texting..but the system wouldnt allow it
3. tried taking out the sim while the phone was on, turned airplane mode on/off..didnt work

however, i should note that the phone registered on my account is a regular LG..its not an iphone..i would imagine that this would facilitate MMS capabilities since there is no iphone MMS package..but there is a regular phone MMS package

Does anyone who's on the o2 network actually know how much it costs to send/receive a picture message? Do they not just take a few SMS credits off your monthly allowance?

I've had MMS and Tethering working along with YouTube and Visual Voicemail since day one. There must be something in those IPCC you guys are using that are causing these problems, or some prior Jailbreaking causing the problems, in which you are on your own.

They key to MMS is your plan, the iPhone plan only gets MMS messages as SMS messages. You need to be on a Family Messaging plan or a non-iPhone "Messaging Plan." Once you do get that changed, you use settings similar to above then MMS will work.

you are right sir. my mms is up and running fine for now

I just went up to the ATT Retailer where I work. I replaced my iphone txt unlimited plan with just the normal Unlimited Text, replaced my sim card for good measure and updated my carrier settings. MMS still does not work. I tried my sim in a variety of phones, no luck. I tried our store demo blackberry chip in my iPhone and could MMS no problem. I don't believe the problem is with the iPhone but the features on Iphone accounts (not even text). There is a feature called 4APL Iphone 3g Tracking that isn't removable- I think this is the problem. I read up on some blackberry forums and they were saying it was this tracking feature that was the issue, who knows?

Sorry for the long winded response haha

Still no dice for me... I downloaded the carrier files a few have posted here and they already matched what I had done. I called ATT and Im on the family unlimited messaging plan so I should have no MMS blocking and the rep confirmed that for me... he was also using a jailbroken iphone with mms working so he knew what I was asking him for.

One thing that does work is tethering... I added the additions to carrier.plist for that too and that works. Just no MMS yet.

I will continue to mess with removing the sim card etc and just giving it some time..... I dunno.

If you are experiencing failures with sending MMS just connect the phone to the Xcode tools and check the console logs to see what happens after it reaches the 100% point of sending data to the proxy. A 403 Forbidden response from the mmsc would mean it is still being blocked by at&t.

once I installed the .ipcc file above the camera icon disappeared.
tried restarts and pulling sim, still no icon

My problem is definitely with AT&T. Has anyone been able to contact them to get this issue resolved?

I ran Xcode and got the forbidden 403 response what do i need to ask at&t to change so i can get the mms working. Also i am on a family messaging plan so i should be able to receive mms

at&t will need to "provision" (their words) the device for multimedia messages even though that unlimited plan is enabled. It doesn't seem to be automatic in the system for the iPhone.

I had to turn off and then back on the MMS option and then Hard Reset my phone for it to appear. Try that man.

Thanks, that worked for me, I don't want to try and send any picture messages though just in case I get charged for it

just spoke with someone with iphone support and att at the same time he tried to provision my account and couldnt his words were they have been in training all week and it works on some account and on others it doesnt they are trying to resolve the issue but have no time frame at all and suggest calling back in a week and keep check to see if it is updated on beta site

Installed the file linked here. Worked great. After I installed, I took out SIM card, reboot phone and then put SIM card back in. I'm not on an iPhone plan however. My personal number was ported over to my company's corporate account and I have a PDAnet plan I believe. All of our company phones are Windows Mobile. I just never took my SIM out of my iPhone and put in the Blackjack II they sent me after I allowed them to port my number over.

The "I'm not on an iPhone plan however." is the most important part. This is a block on at&t's side that is setup in their software.

I got an SMS from O2 today:

FROM O2: We cannot process your request for Picture Messaging. Please call Customer Service or visit O2.co.uk

I had tried to send an MMS a few days ago.

Do you have the proper package on your plan? I haven't heard others on o2 describing a block like the one we're seeing on at&t.

I'm on new iPhone plan (£45/monthly) with iPhone 3G + OS.3.0 and after upgrading ipcc file for O2 i can send MMS but ... but photos made by Camera aplication from iPhone are too big (about 700-900 kb per file) to be send over O2 MMS. When i do iPhone screenshot (Home+Power) or when i upload resized photos (about 100kb per file) to iPhone - i can send them in MMS, when i try to send original photo made by Camera aplication i've got error that MMS can not be send.
