Infineon supply chips and a software stack to drive them.
Now it is beyond belief that they don't at least attempt to keep the software as common as possible between all the platforms (ie chips) they sell. So Apple pick a platform (SGOLD2) that meets their price/performance requirements and they get the chips, reference designs and the software. The software is BOUND to have a check in it to determine which chipset it is running on.
I'm speaking from experience of looking at simillar software supplied by other big players in this area (but not Infineon specifically).
Does it mean they will use the SGOLD3? No.
They might. I think they probably will. But this string is meaningless.
