I think the s3 is going to be a beast for sure. We should find out this week so it should out perform the iPhone in everyway, hell the one x does too but I have had the one x for a week and the screen sensitivity is nothing like apple. Everything else is as good so I plan on going to the s3 but I bet I end up with another iPhone when it's all said and done!

onthecouchagain;15062973 I find Android users are far more honest about Android's shortcomings said:
Not true. There are numerous threads on this site all the time about things people would like to see in iOS that are not there. Android users on the other hand STILL complain about "swipe down" being "stolen" from Android.

But honestly, both sides have users like that. Apple does have users who always think whatever Apple does in great and Android has users who just love to attack anything Apple does. Works both ways. In fact, the number of Android users who keep insisting on joining an Apple site just to tell Apple users how much better the Android OS is, is getting quite annoying.

----------

Yeah that's what I said. But with Android you don't have to do that, just lift & it dials.

Is that every Android device or just the SGS3?

Yup. I agree. As a user of both I love both. I enjoy technology. I don't care about the back & forth bickering. They both work and essentially do the same thing.

I've been an iPhone user since the launch of the 3g and I just purchased the Galaxy S3 yesterday. It's about that time for change and I found the features of iOS6 underwhelming.

I'm not saying that I'll be gone forever but for right now the iPhone isn't cutting it for me.

How do you find multitasking on the SIII? Is it just as good as the iPhone? Also, how is battery life?

Pre-order it comes in on Thursday.

It's exactly like multi-tasking and the task bar on the Asus Transformer Prime, it's awesome.

As far as the battery life goes from what I've read from the UK users it's gotten great reviews. According to the power users they were able to use the phone a whole day and still have juice until the very end of the night. I hope I have the same results.

It's pretty funny that you say this. Reading these threads, the only insecurity I see are iPhone users trying to justify how great the 4s is. When the facts are show the iphone 4S is slower, lacking in features and that the ICS OS is smoother than iOS, the last things we hear from the Apple fans is, "Well, my iphone has better resale value" or "Yeah, but my screen is retina" or finally "iOS developrs get paid more".

I enjoy reading it all, even if it does make me pity you, at least I get a good chuckle in.

How are iPhone users insecure in an iPhone thread? What does any iPhone user need to justify in an iPhone forum? If you love Android so freaking much, why you stay in the iPhone forums? Makes no damn sense.

Think about it. Use every bit of your brain power. It's probably going to be difficult for you to grasp the simplicity of the answer, but keep trying.

I just pre-ordered an SIII on Verizon (currently using an IP4 on AT&T.) Normally I'd wait until it was released to try one in-store first. But with the mandatory shared data plans coming on 6/28 I wanted to grandfather the current plan pricing. I'm on an individual line and the shared data plan would cost me $20/mo. extra for exactly the same data.

Man, that SIII looks so tempting to me. If Apple didn't have me by the balls with their ecosystem, I would jump on the SIII.

We all know Apple doesn't introduce any "new" features anymore. They just take all of Android's features, rename them and then try to pass them off as new. I am sure it will be added to ios7 (since Apple is always years behind current tech) but it will be called Face Calling.

Android didn't create any features. Android is just shoving any and everything out that already exists to keep it's wow factor alive. Same goes for manufactures like Samsung & HTC who shove big number specs to impress. What happens when they hit their peak and exhaust any possible wow factors? You can only add so many features and make the screen only so big.

This is like the Tortoise & Rabbit race, and we all know who wins in the end. ;)

This is a joke correct? If not you are a very ignorant apple follower. Apple is the one who delivers old technology and touts it as new. For example, usb 3.0 on their mac lineup, took them how many years to finally update? Also Samsung has invested way more in R&D across the board than Apple has, apple finds one new noteworthy thing every year, adds it and "creates sliced bread" again. It's technologically retarded people like you that created this business model for apple, and will continue it.

Makes you wonder where the big screen wars are headed in 2013 when all these flaghship android phones try to create a selling point over 2012 models.

Apple users generally don't live to troll android forums because they don't care.

Android users are generally insecure and it chaps their rump that most Apple customers are content with their purchase and simply do not care about android.

The android community cares far more about Apple and what Apple consumers think than vice versa.

Android communities hardly ever discuss the iPhone, but there are loads of threads made on these forums about Android.

If anyone felt insecure, surely it would make more sense to post on an Android forum with other like minded people about why the iPhone sucks... but no, that doesn't seem to happen.

I think Android forums are more focused on Android because Android attracts enthusiasts moreso than iOS does. You can do more with an Android device; it's more complex, ergo people have more to discuss.

For example, a lot of Android forums have a "post your home screen" style thread. On Android this sees wildly different configurations and people give each other tips about what widgets they use etc.. on the iPhone, the only thing that's going to be different is the order of the apps and the wallpaper.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but:

Android - pull down notification bar.
Samsung - smart stay, direct call, some of the gestures in the S3 are new (eg tilt to scroll).

These are new features that Android and Samsung created?

4.8" is the max for me I think.. can't reach the top left corner of my phone without struggling when using it with one hand.

I don't think phones will get much bigger now anyway.

They are differ ways of implementing something that already existed. Think WebOS when it comes to notification bar. And gestures are basically just mapping.

Not to take anything away from good innovation. Just hate when people play the who copied who game.

What the hell are you talking about? Has nothing to do with my post. Stop being a freaking dick and insulting everyone who doesn't bow down to the almighty Android. Your little rant has hate written all over it.

The WebOS implementation is different from what I can gather. It has a pane similar to Android's, where icons representing each notification are shown in a line, but you have to tap on each notification to see what it is. There doesn't appear to be a way to see all notifications in a list, which Android and iOS both support. This is just what I can find on Google; I haven't actually used WebOS.

What about Smart Stay; I haven't seen that before. Nor have I seen direct call.

You only picked the parts of my post that kinda existed already :p

Android Beam is another first for Android.
