Can anyone who has a Caudabe Veil give their opinion on its drop protectiveness?

I really don't think you buy an ultra thin case for drop protectiveness. I've had the Veil for my 5s and it's good for protecting from scratches and stuff like that. You don't have to worry about setting your phone on concrete or some other rough surface and scratching the back. If you want something more substantial, you're going to need a thicker case. Ultra thins are for thinness lovers.

It is very similar to the Shumuri. I had the Veil for my 5S and now a Shumuri Slim Case for my 6. Made from the exact same material. The Veil however does not protect the bottom of the iPhone. The Shumuri case on the other hand provides 360 degrees protection, all sides are protected.

If there was one thing I'd change on the Veil would be to have full coverage on the bottom as well.

*******BREAKING NEWS !!!!

I just contacted Caudabe about it and a little birdie told me they are indeed coming out with one that covers the bottom as well. I'm looking forward to it.

Wow, really? What did they say about a release date? And will it be for the 6 or the 6 Plus too?

I just received my Veil and I'm happy with it. I used Caudabe on my 5s as well. As others have said, it's thin and offers minimal protection.

The only issue I've had with this case in the past is that it will eventually get loose on the phone. But, it doesn't surprise me that a case this thin eventually stretches.

There is no drop protection on the caudabe cases. You buy them for being minimalistic and scratch resistance. Don't use it if you are drop prone.

Did the birdie tell you when ?

An extremely thin one, paper thin. Perfect for people who want to use their naked but don't want to worry about scratching it.

Although I'd argue that it's better than a skin because it doesn't require any messy application. Just snap it on and go. On the other hand, it also wears out a little bit over time, just like a skin. But for the price of this thing, especially on Amazon, I'm happy with replacing it every few months or so.

I sent another email and was told "Very soon". Also they mentioned the Veil for iPhone 6 plus should be the next one out, then the ones with coverage on the bottom with the 6 first, then the 6 plus after.

Ok thanks, so it's like a skin then...

I agree, similar to a skin but no messy application. I do like skins as well and I have ordered some. Benefit of Veil case is also coverage on the corners. Most skin companies don't have good edge or corner coverage. The one skin company I go with has extreme fits that cover everything and that's what I usually get. I like both cases and skins, this gives me variety so I don't get bored with the iPhone.

I wanted one of these cases for the iPhone 5S that I never got. (Long story)

Seeing the case, I feel that they should have made the case at least ~0.7mm thick because that's how much the camera (roughly) sticks out. It would stay flush if that was the case.

I'm still going to get one if I can, when I buy my iPhone, of course.

I don't. Do you know how thick 0.7 is? It'd make the case no thinner than your typical snap on hard case. No thanks.

Ok. Good for you.
0.7 isn't even a full millimeter, so I'm not worried. I've seen the ~0.7mm protrusion on the iPhone and it is not that thick.

The thickness is all relative. 0.7mm is not thick in real life but when you are dealing with an iPhone 6 with thickness of 6.9mm, 0.7mm is more than 10% thicker. That is no longer a "thin" case. With a 0.7mm thick case, you are in a whole different range of cases. Don't get me wrong, I also bought an Apple case to use sometimes.

Caudabe manufacturer located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It's 100% American made !

honestly, all products sold around the world are made in China, mostly

shipped from the US only means that they have a warehouse there

----------

i guess that the Shumuri covering the bottom will prevent from formfactor deformation and also dirt getting in, vs the Caudabe ?
