Alright, I get it guys. I messed up on getting another iPhone, obviously I didn't do enough research on the specs that matter to me. I agree that the Samsung software is bad, I had a GS6 before this. I'm thinking of getting a Nexus 6P, what do you guys think? I know it's kinda weird talking about Android on a macrumors forum, but I might as well ask before I leave this forum.

It's my opinion that anything over 400 PPI is overkill. I've been using a 6 Plus for over a year now and as far as detail goes, not far off the S7 and S7 Edge. Now color, contrast, that's a different story but that is going to change in a year or two for iPhones. The SE should at least have a 1334 X 750 panel and the 6s should at least have a 1920 X 1080 panel. The 6 Plus is fine where it is at. Just my opinion on this topic.

The 6S+ models should run at 2208x1242 - their native resolution.

PPI on the iPhone 4-6S (326 PPI) is not definitively higher than what the human eye can perceive. I can definitely see the pixels on my 6S in certain use cases. It doesn't bother me, but it's inaccurate to way that it isn't perceivable.

Ok, technically 380ppi is the limit for human eyes. Maybe one can hold the screen an inch away and try real hard, yeah one can see "pixels" of an iPhone. But to rant about the screen resolution for watching YouTube is preposterous.

I can make out pixels at about 10/12 inches if I am trying. Like I said, I do notice in certain uses, but it rarely if ever bothers me.

I agree that the OP's gripes seem tenuous, but his point is still somewhat valid IMO. Moving to a 1080p screen on the 4.7" would have been preferable. They have to leave something for next year though, right?

And yet you responded

Yeah because he had to point out how ignorant it was.

Anyway folks, don't forget that PPI has to be taken in the context of screen distance from the eye. On my 6s, I cannot see any pixels at the typical distances I use my phone. That's all that should matter.

Just because you can't doesn't necessarily mean others can't either. Some people are perfectly happy with 326ppi, and some aren't. For legitimate reasons. I don't see why that's a problem.

Do people not do their homework anymore? Even an ounce of thinking let alone researching before buying in this case a phone?

Every. Single. Release. the specs are listed prior to going on sale. No one is forced to buy. There's no damn 'brainwashing' going on. No one has to stay iPhone. Nor does Apple need to comply with any of your demands. Apple is doing just fine. Make YOUR choice.

For one, no matter the price you pay or how premium you think it is, you. don't. have. to...if you think the specs are dated. Get a different phone and quit your crying.

If you think Apple is behind the times, leave! Vote with your wallet. But stop coming back here to bitch and moan after the fact because those of us who decide to stay don't want nor need to hear your bellyaching bullsh*t.

So my 6S has 760p or whatever in 2016. So f**king what? I like it. I like my camera. I like 128gb internal storage, I like iMessage, I like simplicity, reliability, and most of all iOS. I knew going in I was getting 326ppi. So why complain? I had other choices available. I made mine and I live with it.

I swear some of you nitpickers must be a joy to live with just bitching, whining and moaning about every little thing. Apple owes you nothing. Vote with your wallet. And know exactly what you're getting before you vote. Damn.

I wholeheartedly agree. You'd think Apple has a gun to some of these people head forcing them to buy their products. There are SO many choices outside of Apple, and I really don't understand why they don't go purchase those instead of complaining to us.
