The only thing you're attaching to the phone is the disc?

Those put a big metal lump on the back.

4 Magnets.

Thank you, those look bigger than the ones in the Spigen feel. Hopefully you didn't ruin your mount.

Picked up a Spigen Mount. Really simple. Sleek. Does the trick. With any case

Not strong enough for the 6S+ IMO. It did work ok with the M9 though.

I had that one, the weight of the phone pulled it off the vent, so I went with the Scosche.

Good to know Rocko. Thanks again.

Do these magnets affect the cell signal?

This is the best iPhone mount I've ever owned:

I do use it with Incipio's Ultra Thin transparent case but I think it will work with most cases.
It fits, not only on the vents, but other places in the vehicle as well.
I bought a second one which I use everywhere (at home as a stand, on grocery carts, etc.).

I plan to order one for my iPhone 6s Plus through Proclip http://www.proclipusa.com/targetsections/iphone-6s-phone-mount-holder.aspx

They are a little pricey and are sold in two pieces (Holder and Mounting Solution). The "Holder" is phone and case size specific and the "Mounting Solution" is vehicle and location specific. Each vehicle has about 5 different locations to mount the phone. The finished product looks very clean and very professional. If you get the holder without the integrated lighting connector (which is what I am doing) it is a reasonable proposition.

Note that they have a promo code for Oct 10% off (SAVETEN)

Looked rather interesting until I looked up my vehicle. The final product stated:
Notice: Not recommended for wider devices or devices turned to a horizontal position.

I found the Scosche mount at Walmart of all places and since it was there, I grabbed it. The magnets seem stronger with my thin cases and as I figured, won't work well with the Candyshell Grip.

I mounted mine in a similar place as Rocko here, however be aware: Scosche's cleaning wipe stripped the paint from my Ford Escape's center plastic area where I mounted it:

Wow. I used it on mine with no problem. Was your car bought new?

lol no. She's 11 years old and I just bought her this past January.

Reason I ask is if that dash part was repainted, that would answer why they paint came off. Many times if there are scratches, dealers, Carmax, etc. will repaint dash parts and it's not as durable as the factory paint.

Good point. I don't think there's any reason to believe it was repainted. However, it does give me an excuse to try and repaint the entire thing the color of it's body. Even if it'd be a ricey thing to do.

Ha! I get you. It's totally doable. Just a couple tips-research painting plastic. It's easy as pie, just have to clean well with a plastic prep solution, scuff all painted areas without scratching and use paint specifically for plastic. I have done it with great results. And if you really FUBAR the whole thing, there are stock bezels on ebay for around $50.

I've worked with plastic a great deal, so painting it won't be anything out of the norm for me. I was just surprised that what I had assumed was a wetnap could strip paint, lol.

I also use this with my plus. Awesome

I always use these. Once you have a vehicle mount you only have to change out the device mount unless you get a new car.

If Panavise makes a bracket for your vehicle I'd recommend looking at them instead of using a ProClip vehicle mount. ProClip tends to rely on friction and doublesided tape where Panavise's brackets actually bolt down to the dash.

The iOttie works with the Apple case and just barely with a larger case such as the Lifeproof. Don't need magnets or vents. Very flexible placement.

I can confirm that the Spigen Slim armor will not work with the Scosche mount, with the plate between the hard plastic and inner TPU portion of the case. In fact, there's pretty much no grip at all. :(

Except that I do not have a CD player to stick that in, and that looks like the same magnet head as the Spigen, which isn't very strong.

well, it may look like the Spigen,
but it holds the 6S plus VERY well and VERY secured.

With or without a case? Because ironically, the Spigen mount isn't strong enough to use with a Spigen (iPhone Slim Armor) case. Neither does the Scosche for that matter.
