With or without a case? Because ironically, the Spigen mount isn't strong enough to use with a Spigen (iPhone Slim Armor) case. Neither does the Scosche for that matter.

hmmm... well in my case (lol) i have a slim case with the magent inside, and it's just sublime.
but you might have a point with thick cases.
well maybe no magnet holder can handle thick cases..
so if that's the case you are stuck with cradles..

Got my case yesterday, and it is exactly what I want. The case (mine is black) is rubberized all over. The indent inside the plastic shell fits the Spigen plate perfectly (the Scosche plate, while smaller, didn't seem to fit as well), and the front-facing speaker redirect is awesome. It's no HTC Boomsound, but it's way better than cupping the bottom of the phone.

The phone in the case feels very slim again, but not frail (if that makes sense). Excellent grip, table-ability, and the buttons are very tactile. And the price was great on Amazon. This is now my daily driver.

What about a case with a magnet already built in (Zolo, Logitech Protection +, etc)?

Oh and these:

Those are really, really interesting. I'm not digging the open bottoms however.
