Really?! I'm a true fan (iPhone 1 here!) but I'm not sure I'm ready for the store experience.

I did it for the 5S and it was a great experience just talking to the people in line that share the similar interest. I was the 3rd person in line. Once in a lifetime experience.

I always get the silver one. But here I am, 4 hours away and I'm rethinking my color choice. Help! I'm definitely getting the 7, 128gb. I got the plus when the 6 was released and found it too big. Maybe I just wasn't ready, going from a 5 to a 6 plus.

Going for the 7+ 256 in Gold.

Are you guys expecting delays right away? I skipped last year and I remember the debacle of 2014 with the 6. I was up at 3am and couldn't complete my order for about a half hour and thus got booted to early October delivery.

It seems like demand for this one might be down a little so should us 3AMers be okay to get a launch day one?

I've been to the past 3 iPhone launches, and I remember fondly during the 5S Gold iPhone launch, the Apple employees at Tyson's Corner lined up and clapped as we dedicated customers entered the store. The 6/6+ launch was interesting in that supply was plentiful (100th position in line and still got our 1st choices). The mall let us line up indoors overnight. Last year's 6S/6S+ preordering was even smoother as Apple had the Reserve in store option for casual pickup. Not as much camaraderie since most of us didn't have to camp out all night. The same mall banned overnight campers and security enforced it.

Bring it on!

I'll be going from a space gray iPhone 6s Plus w/128gig to a matte black iPhone 7 Plus with 256 gig via the Apple Upgrade Program.

I expect that we'll experience the same issues we had getting the 6. I was up at 3 am as well and didn't complete my order until after 4 but still got release day. I definitely think there might be trouble with the new black shades. If we're on at 3 ET, and keep at it, we'll get it on release day. I stand firm that it's best to stay away from the carrier sites.

It seems like the camaraderie would be the best part. Like talking on the forums but in person! You are legit though, people who go to the stores are hardcore!

AT&T Next, though the Apple plan looks good too. It includes APP+, but costs more/mo. It ends up being close to a wash (you have to buy APP+ again with any Next).

The only thing that's annoying (unless I've really missed something) is that it looks like you can only do the Apple up-to-date plan in-store. Or, I missed something.

Just paid off the remainder of the 24 mo Next earlier today. Looks like I can upgrade through Apple Store, so it's saved in Favorites and ready to go (plus a new black dock).

OMG WHAT. I thought you could join the program online now?

I only did a carrier site once which was for the 4 I think years and years ago. I take it we are going the best route by going through apple?

I hope you are right about launch day delivery! Hoping my color preference helps with that.

I'm going for the Plus model for the first time since they started making them. I'm a bit nervous so I went to the store to play with a 6S Plus. After 2 years of the 6 and 6S, the 6S Plus actually doesn't feel much bigger. My old boss got the 6 Plus from a 5 when they first released them and he ended up returning it because it felt too big. I texted him last night to ask his thoughts about the keynote and he told me he's had the 6S Plus for a while now and loves it, would never go back. Mentioned that going from the 5 to the 6 Plus was too drastic a jump but insists I'll love the bigger size. Fingers crossed!

Our mall never let the overnight lineup thing happen. So I would always be there around 6:30 AM on the day of and I was always between number 1 and 10 in line. I only did line standing for two of the 9 years but it was fun.. Of course we always had our phones long before preorder people shipments came to their doors.

Can I put a gift card toward the purchase of phone on AT&T Next? Also, can I use it on the iOS app? Annoying that I have to input all the card details which will slow me down :-/

Enter the card PIN as an entry as a Text Replacement ("keyboard shortcut"). I use the codes cga, cgb, etc. for the "shortcut" and the gift card PIN as the "phrase".

That was me last year. I enjoyed my 6 in '14/'15 and even thought it a little too big compared to my 5S… But then after I received my 6S on launch day last year I really wanted to try Plus… Went to my Apple Store at 7am Saturday, one day after launch and was #60 in line. They sold out of all pluses at #40 in line and told the rest of us line after waiting an hour (store not open till 8 AM). But fortunately AT&T store in other mall near my house had plenty of supply of the Plusses that Saturday in all but Rose Gold.

Sent my 6S back to ATT. Can never go back to 4.7" now.

Are you guys having it delivered to your home or to an Apple Store?

I don't know why anyone would want to go to the store with all those crowds, not to mention making the trip there, rather than have it delivered to your home.

Well, if you go and see what the requirements are for the program, they say bringing ID, etc., which implies in-person. I'm double checking with a store contact now.

So far, he says he thought it could be done online. Hopefully, my bad. ¯\(°_o)/¯ Sorry for getting adrenaline going.

Ship it home unless I guess you can't be home or have some untrustworthy neighbors/streets.

Pre-ordering Jet Black 256GB iPhone 7 Plus AT&T

Who's with me?
Definitely with you, though I'm torn on if I should get the matte black instead of the jet black since I prefer to use my iPhone caseless.

I prefer to have shipped at home, but have to do in store since I'm on the iPhone upgrade plan now.

So I'm using my dad's credit card to purchase my iPhone 7, since I don't have the money in my bank account. My stupid self forgot to take of my debit card and update my payment method with his card information instead. Now the Apple Store is closed down until 3AM, and I probably won't be able to enter his card information in time during checkout.
