I remember iPhone 5 orders... 12:35pm confirmation. Jammed website, up the wazoo, still got it launch day.

As the ordering servers get better and more people hit those servers, all the phones go in seconds.

It's the same for WWDC.. 5 minutes and it's sold out. I have gone 3 times myself, but now it's, who you know at Apple, that gets you in.

Apple still shows preparing for shipment, buy My UPS tracking shows it's already left China and is currently en route from Anchorage.

Mine is still preparing for shipment and entering reference (order number, phone number) on UPS website is still not showing up.

Every year like this, I will be able to access like 2 days before..

7+ rose gold 256 in preparing for shipment stage, not in profile and cannot getting anything on fedex or ups(ups is usually the service for me). But apparently AT&T knows something, just got an email from them with return instructions. Not worried because my phones usually don't show up on ups site until 1-2 days prior to delivery. This forum help occupy my mind as I wait. ⏰⏱⏲

Whoop! An update.

My 128gb 7, ordered in Australia within a couple of minutes of orders going live, is now included on my service profile. A lightning dock I ordered yesterday is shipped and scheduled for delivery on 16th, so can't be long for the phones now.

Jealous.... I got a 128GB 7 Black, picking up in store and it's still processing and not on my support profile
Leather Case I ordered on launch day seems to be delivering on the 15th so happy days for that

Does anyone know why we can search for the UPS tracking by reference but Apple won't give us a tracking number? My order still says preparing for shipment but I've been tracking that it already shipped.

From the UPS site (www.ups.com), if you don't already have one, create a UPS account

Select track by "Reference"
Enter your Apple order number (omitting the last two numbers)
Enter Destination Country
Enter Destination Zip Code

Search

Resulting screen should display your actual UPS tracking details

Could be but one guy came in here ordered at 9am thats about 6hrs gap, and I highly doubt that variant had that good of a stock for him to get it 9/16, I just personally think apples system is a cluster mess, hopefully I can still get mines at launch.

To be fair I ordered mine (7+128GB RG) at 5.03 pm (launch hour over here) and had a 16/9 delivery date, and checked the next day out of curiosity and it was still showing that date..

For everyone mentioning getting a T-Mobile or another carrier phone and dropping your sim in, apparently you cant. Someone mentioned this in another thread and I couldn't believe it. I looked on apples site and here is what I saw

... Looks like Ill have to visit ATT after I get my phone on Friday so they can swap my line with my Wife's and then when the other phone comes in, do the same. I wonder if Apple is using the Apple sim or a better sim card that can withstand water? I know usually phones that go through water will be fine but the sim card always get ruined in my experience. Waiting for hands on review reviews wednesday/thursday to see if thats the case.

iPhone 5 and up use nano sim. Before that was micro, it won't be a problem. Also micros can easily be cut down to nanos

My jet black iPhone 7 plus AT&T 128 GB just showed up in my support profile. My order still says processing. I was able to use my phone number to find ups shipping label has just been created. I was quoted a 09/26-10/03 delivery date. The rose gold iPhone 7 plus still hasn't shown up on my support profile.

If I track by reference it shows what is obviously an iPhone leaving China but it's going to Texas... I am in California! LOL

Not stressing out but this year is a wee bit of a mess. Never had these issues before..

They go through various hubs depending on your region. That's UPS for you. Somehow unnecessary transport strategy is "logistics." And they "heart it." Nah. They heart wasting resources so they can justify their higher transportation rates. But I digress....

Oh no doubt, the problem with mine, when I track by reference, is that it appears as though Texas is it's final destination.. Justin, TX I think is where it's headed... I don't really think that's mine though because I have nothing in support profile and my order page still says preparing to ship..

The Preparing for shipment part is normal. For some people it changes but for many you may not see that change to Shipped until tomorrow or Thursday. What's more concerning is its destination. Sign up for UPS My Choice. It may show you the address on the label like mine.

I am not all that worried about it to be honest.. Just passing along what going on in case someone else is in the same boat..

1. Card charge hold put on at time of order then charge fell off and funds put back in account. This is pretty meaningless as Apple can still charge it again with no interaction from me.

2. Tracking by reference says it's going to Texas but I'm in California..

3. Nothing in support profile,, Meaningless at this point and nothing to worry about really.

4. Order has correct shipping info and still says preparing to ship with a delivery date of the 16th. I assume all is a-ok and I will get the phone on the 16th. If not? Meh, there are bigger tragedies in the world than my phone not arriving..
