Just a heads up, the Taiwan flight has NOT taken off. The departure 'scan' took place, but the plane is still grounded. Im 99% sure its flight UPS6061. It leaves at 7:41am central standard time... so we still have about 45 minutes before it goes up in the air. It will land in Anchorage at 4:03pm central time. It will then take off two hours later at 6:15pm central, and arrive in Louisville at 11:53pm central.
When I google it, the airplane symbol is steadily moving right. Is this not accurate?

You're lucky. The UPS customer center that serves my area is almost 30 miles away from where I live (I'm likely on the border that delineates the point where one customer center stops service and the other picks up). With traffic, it's easily a 40+ minute drive.

But worth it, only on iPhone release days, right?

I think it's UPS61 not UPS6061...UPS6061 (Kansai > AK) is now showing a different route than UPS61 (TPE > AK)...it shows UPS61 departing in ~15 mins http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS61

Departure scan. Wings up in less than an hour. This is cutting close. Midnight touchdown in Louisville means it has less than 7 hours to get out to my local hub (in Orange County, CA)

Received shipping info from Apple sometime overnight!! 2 separate packages 1 phone and 1 watch..

UPS can do it! I'm super impressed with them this launch..I wish I could shadow a logistics employee that works at UPS..I want to see how this all goes down.

Well there are two flights... UPS6061 and UPS61. UPS61 is already airborne according to Google and supposedly left at 4:20am central. But Flightaware says UPS61 is still grounded and won't take off until 7:41am central.

According to Google, UPS6061 left at 4:20am central and should be airborne. I'm confused by the conflicting info between the two sites.

Edit: Im pretty sure its UPS61. Its the most reasonable choice. Both Google and Flightaware are within 20 mins of each other for taking off.

Yes my phone is leaving Taiwan in 16 minutes on that well known UPS flight 61 leaving now in 17 minutes....

I got email from apple also saying it is shipped and arriving late tomorrow:

And of course UPS like all of you stuck in Taiwan (from Hong Kong vacation) friends says it has departed via scan -- obviously on flight 61:

No need to worry. UPS sends flights out from Louisville every day (night) that arrive at their destinations as late as 7 am local time. Also remember that Louisville is EDT, so even if it lands at midnight, it's only 9 pm PDT.

Got my shipment notification from Apple early this morning. Phone's still in Louisville, but that's only a few hours from here so I'm not worried.

Here is flight aware for us Taiwan departure crew with info on UPS61 about to leave (now 12 minutes or less). Notice they have schedule for it arriving and leaving Anchorage also for Louisville (right above the yellow link for flight just leaving) it arrives in Louiville based on estimate of just before 1 AM EDT (or midnight my time in Illinois CDT). I bet they will be hustling to get to me 233 miles from Louisville but I imagine late day as it states is correct yeah

Is yours more than one package? have a watch and a phone in the same situation; the package appears to be in Louisville, but Apple still says Preparing for Shipment. Both are in my Support Profile with serial #s. Mine is one package, weighing 1.2Kg, so I assume this means that both the phone and the watch are in the same package.
Yes separate. I got the phone order in first because it's more important.

When did you order? And for what carrier? I got my confirmation at 12:08AM PDT for the same phone on AT&T and have the same delivery dates, but nothing as far as tracking yet.
I ordered it Friday around 2:30 central for att 256 MB 7+. I ordered a watch and phone I only have received tracking info for watch from Apple but see 2 packages being delivered Friday.
