Posting this info since my original thread got merged:

We should start seeing some movement today or tomorrow with the order status.
Once we get to 'preparing for shipment' we should be able to get details on your phone and let the tracking begin :)

Here are some notes to help track orders:

Apple will automatically add your phone with it's serial number in your support profile. You can see it here:
https://supportprofile.apple.com/

You can look up the week of manufacture and factory here: http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html or
http://sndeep.info/en

Links: for tracking:

http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/reference?loc=en_US

Track by reference (order number minus last 2 digits) you should find it

https://www.fedex.com/fedextrack/htm...&cntry_code=us

Has anyone got any tracking details yet?

I think you are correct. The "Ships in 1 to 2 weeks" and the "Delivery in 3 weeks" doesn't seem to jive. I think Sept 26th is the day of or Monday Tuesday of the following week. If my phone shipped in one week, it would arrive at my door on the 16th assuming 2 day shipping and very little margin of error.

I am guessing low production numbers of the Jet Black due to manufacturing issues. The timeline was so tight that they are setting expectations since they have a sliver of wiggle room.

The standard shipping method takes about 5 days in transit.
I get that people want their phone as soon as possible, but jeez, calling to get it expedited and staying on hold for hours?? I'm sure the phone you have will do you for the next couple of weeks until your phone arrives, it's not the end of the world for cripes sake. And yes, mine is due the 16th, but I did wait for 3 weeks last year, and the year before for my plus model. Que the pitchforks and fire breathing dragons! lol

Actually, I jumped on chat and kept working while I waited for a rep. About 30 minutes later, I got someone and just explained that I'd like to request expedited shipping and a few minutes later both of my orders had it.

You guys that are paying extra for shipping are just wasting your money. I've been preordering from Apple.com for quite a few years now and there's never been a difference. In fact, one year I upgraded one of my phones to expedited and left the other at standard - they both arrived the same day. Unless Apple decides to do something much different this year, all orders will be processed and shipped in order and delivered via expedited shipping. They all come over in large groups from China, then Alaska, then the Worldport hub in KY, then to your local UPS facility. You aren't going to expedite anything during the first steps (from China, to Alaska, to KY), and in my experience, the phone ALWAYS arrives overnight from the hub in KY no matter what shipping method you chose.

I believe that's why some of the CSR's are allowing the upgrades and some are saying that it won't make any difference. The latter ones are actually the smarter ones because they know that there's no way to actually change the shipping time for preorders. To be honest, Apple shouldn't even allow this as an option when you place your order.

where on earth is the chat? I can't find it.

So, it may be just me, but trying to decode the serial number only yields the factory. Anyone else seeing this?

Silver 7+ 128gb here. No movement, still preparing for shipment. No phone in support profile, but the serial number in my Verizon phone details is now different though.
