Nice case but front protection on the Sheath is non-existent (barely a lip). Easy pass!
Won't disagree, lip is very minimal but that's what I like lol. I have a 0.3mm screen protector so I don't mind that getting scratched up if I lay it face down.

I'm needing some help here from my fellow "Case Detectives."

I'm looking for a case for my iPhone 7 that is similar to the Evutec AER but in a NAVY BLUE color.

Basically a minimal case with military drop protection. No Caudabe please. Lol

Thanks

Any pics of the blue Tozo case on your phone? I've got the black already and it's pretty great

It's just the angle of the photos actually. The lip on the Sheath is a nice compromise and might be my favorite part of the entire case. It's raised enough that it does offer protection when your phone is face down, but it's not big enough to be bothersome when you're using your phone. I've got a regular glass screen protector on my phone and the Sheath's lip still rises higher than the screen protector (albeit not by a whole lot). It's a good lip for a minimalist case. lol

Looking for some info on the Silk Grip. Can you tell if it would provide any drop protection at all? Is the grip in fact decent? Thx.

Silk Grip case will definitely have more grip but its a bigger case all-round and a bit more weighty. Depends on how thin you want your case, but in terms of grip it's much better than the veil.

I'm quite certain it will offer some drop protection, although I'm not sure if it's drop rated as I've thrown the box away. It's a very sturdy case and definitely more protective than the Caudabe Sheath or Veil cases or even the Spigen Liquid Armor for example. Grip is definitely a good selling point and as it has a pretty unique texture around the perimeter of the case. It's hard to describe it; it's more of a 'friction' type of grip as opposed to the tacky type of grip you get from the apple silicone cases.

Love my Silk. It's much more bulky than that of my TOZO for sure. I don't have a Caudabe for my 7+ but I'd imagine super thin like normal and Silk in my opinion is actually a case, not a protectant. Good case for the money IMO.

Caudabe's The Veil XT, Tozo, Totallee's The Scarf

Which one will you choose for an iPhone 7 ?

Which has a better grip ?

Thanks !!!

I'm a big fan of Caudabe in general, and I've heard good things about the Veil XT - i.e. it has better grip and cutouts are spot on. I've ordered mine and still waiting for it to get to the UK. I've had the Veil XT for my iPhone 6 in the past and they were the best minimalist cases that I had tried.

I've got the Tozo and the Totallee cases and my favourite by far is the Tozo as it has slightly better grip and better cutouts. The cutouts on my Totallee case is pretty rough and the thin strip above the lightning port cutout is thinner than the Tozo and was already warped out of shape when it arrived.

TLDR: Veil XT (from experience with iPhone 6 version) > Tozo > Totallee

I don't have the Grip, but what I can say is that the Caudabe Sheath is much more protective than it looks and definitely more protective than the Veil XT I previously had. I'm done with those "super thins" as they just don't do much of anything. But the Sheath I've dropped on almost every surface imaginable (by accident!) and there hasn't even been a scuff on either my phone or the case itself. It's really quite a durable little thing which you wouldn't initially think given how thin it is. Big fan.

If you guys aren't in a hurry, or are wanting a few extra cases, you can buy these Cafel cases on ebay for $4 shipped per case. I found that the eBay case was actually more grippier than the Tozo case I originally was using, as it had the textured back, and had much nicer cutouts imo.

Bonus: If you don't care about the flash hole cutout being two individual small circles, this case is identical except it has one oval cutout for the flash. It's $2 shipped per case: http://www.ebay.com/itm/182272846468

(the left case is Tozo, the right is the ebay Cafel case)

I bought this for the IP7. Its good. You can't see through the black. But the Caudabe View XT is better.

Just got the sheath in yesterday.
My first case ever for any of my phones.
Have nothing to compare the sheath to but for my taste, it's really slippery.
I like that it is not bulky but I almost want to take the case off and just
stick to the BSE.

I got one for my Plus a little while ago and found it grippy, lol.
It replaced a Spigen Liquid Armor which I loved but was slippy.

I love the Sheath. :)

Anyone try the Jet Black Spigen Thinfit? I'm wondering how the glossy finish is

Not specifically the one for the i7, but the jet black ones from Spigen are always oil/fingerprint magnets. The matte one is too, but (a) not as much, (b) much easier in the hand.

Just recently received my Veil XT case in stealth black and while I love the texture and most of the cut outs (power button cutout is 1mm too high), I find that it's not as snug and tight-fitting as the Tozo case. Main problem is the top left corner which seems a little loose. Anyone else had this issue?

The Tozo case is very tight-fitting UNTIL you remove it a few times, then the material kinda loosens a little and I get the same loose top left corner wobbling a fraction.

I've ordered another Veil XT and hope this resolves the issues.

Bumping this thread because I just received my Tozo case from Amazon. Case is super slim and tight fitting. My only gripe is that the case makes the power and volume buttons just about flush with the case and it makes pressing them very slightly more difficult.

This is my first minimalist case. I used to rock the Ringke slim snap on case and this one is way slimmer.

I wish these ultra thin cases such as the Tozo had a better button solution rather than just a cutout, but I guess that's the trade off you make with the materials they use. I have the Ringke Slim too and I found the buttons to be far too recessed as this case too has cutouts for the buttons.

Right now I'm using my Tozo case with a slickwraps skin underneath and it's a VERY tight fit, but feels solid in the hand. I alternate between this and the Sheath depending on how much bump protection I need during the day.

I'm afraid constant removal of the Tozo case will cause it to lose it's tightness. It's definitely a slick case and very high quality. No rough edges, no annoying logos, just really well made.

I wish I could put a gel / TPU case over the Tozo case (one where I can attach a magnet back to) or to add additional protection when needed. Then the Tozo case could stay on permanently.
