I've been an Android user for the past 8 years and haven't had an iPhone for more than a few days since owning the iPhone 3G years ago. I decided to make the switch from a Nexus 6P to the iPhone 7 to see what all the fuss is about and I must say, of all the features the iPhone 7 touts, the camera is absolutely blowing me away. I snapped these pictures this morning. (click to enlarge)

Took some night pictures... don't know what to say about the camera, day time low ISO pictures are great, but night one are very noisy, took this with ISO 500 and compare to the same when I took with iPhone 4, 5 and 6, I think it was actually step backwards.

Nice shot, did you take it using a 3rd party app like ProCam? DNG files are quite noisy I found and there's no good NR software in any of the supported apps like LR yet.

Hey guys, I just checked Lightroom DNG on my 6s, cause I got so inspired by this thread and WOW, amazing how much better the quality is compared to jpg. Unbelievable, apple should give us raw support for the native camera app...
To me this is a difference between night and day.
That ProCam app folks are talking about here - what are the advantages or differences to LR?

Some great low-light examples I shot on my 7 Plus.

Went on Saturday night to Upper Canada Village, Ontario, Canada... they have an event called "Pumpkin Inferno". Thousands of pumpkins on display... pictures were taken from 7 pm to 9 pm EDT. Really tests out the low-light camera capabilities of the iPhone 7 Plus. All pics were taken with the camera app and are unedited.

the only time you'll get faster than 1.8 is if you go less than 100mm

Not anymore.

and if it doesn't have to be faster than f/1.8
