Yeah. I took these with slow shutter and I used a cheap tabletop tripod and Bluetooth remote I got off of amazon. Spent maybe $20 total.

How slow of a shutter speed were you able to use as the conditions appear to be quite bright and there also doesn't appear to be any ND filters for the 7/7Plus? I'm thinking maybe a maximum of 1/3 to 1/2 second?

It was actually really overcast that day so I was able to use a longer exposure. Those shots were both at 4 seconds. My settings in slow shutter were: capture mode/motion blur, blur strength/maximum and then shutter speed of 4 seconds. The trick is the tripod and Bluetooth shutter release.

you can buy nd filter plates that can be hold in front of the phone. the easiest and cheapest way is to use just a tape =} with a grad nd filter plate you can change easily how much you want to lower the light.

there are also clip-type nd filters for phones, but i dont know if they all have that lens type circle hole which cant be used with iphone7 for both lenses.

You don't need to buy filters for your phone camera, the only thing you really need is an app called NightCap Pro. Or slow shutter app. All of these apps will allow you to expose for five minutes if you want to. Even in broad daylight. But yes you will need to use a tripod, because anything moving will blur During this long exposure.

i think they dont do that. in long exposures the sky is always the problem. but... if i have understood it correctly those apps are just stacking photos and the max shutter speed is still 1/2(?) second. right?

so if the stacking works well, the sky may look fine - especially if there are clouds. if the sky is bright and clear, i quess the sky is burnt out.

Using nightcap pro, my setting were long exposure, this just stacks images and does not over expose. You can go as long as you want. Any movement such as clouds or water, people, cars etc will be blurred. Here is a 5 minute exposure in daylight of the capital. I did use a small table top tripod and the MePhoto bracket. No special filters or blown out skies.

Great Shot!

I've only done long exposures previously on my S7E with the built in pro mode but that was purely one image with no stacking and thus the sky and the image would blow out completely in daylight unless you managed to filter out excess light.

I think I'm going to try a couple shots this weekend with ProCam as it seems to have fairly robust long exposure options. I only have a very basic tripod but hopefully it should be stable enough. I guess my biggest worry is releasing the shutter.

Shot with stock camera. Edited with VSCO.

I use ProCam4 and Pro camera (v10) and the standard camera for my photography. ProCam is used the most especially when I want to use the telephoto and when the standard iPhone camera will not switch over to it often enough because of lighting. the pro camera10 gets used a lot at night time because of its low light plus option stacks about 60 photographs for a really clean clear noise free image.

Thanks for the advice Todd. I Got Pro Camera for the night shots and then I also got Proshot for daily use.

so.. it seems to be that iphone7 either doesnt let you to control "the shutter" speed for long exposures, which also means, that nd filters are basicly gimmicks with iphones - apps just stack photos.

ps. beautiful photo!

Got my plus yesterday! But can't seem to get the Public Beta to download. I have 10.0.0.3, I signed up and installed the beta profile (and restarted) but nothing's popping up in Software Update :(

I still don't understand why Apple doesn't allow us to shoot RAW straight from the default camera app, it would make things so much more convenient.

Took this with my 7 while in Jamaica last week. I think it turned out pretty good!
[doublepost=1477060931][/doublepost]Also took this one which blurred out the background which I didn't think the regular 7 had that feature??

Pretty much all cameras can provide some background blur. iPhone 7+ just provides a more blurred look that would normally come from DSLR type cameras.

Well I haven't tried using it yet. They are in beta five right now so the original or the release of this 10.1 will probably be out next week sometime so you might as well just wait. I'm not sure how much trouble it is to remove the profile, but I'm just going to wait myself.
