I went to the mountains this weekend and took several photos with my new iPhone 7 Plus. I've noticed a lot of my pictures have this black bar on them. Is this a camera defect if not what could be the problem. It also does not happen on every picture only on some.

Is that Table Rock over there?

I didn't use portrait mode since I'm not on the beta yet.

I didn't either on my sunflower pic. Portrait mode is nice but since the iPhone 6 the camera has had great depth of field.

Yeah I tried it last night after I updated at home but it said I needed more light so went outside today and gave it a go.

I know portrait mode is still in beta, but I've noticed in pictures of myself, the software has a tough time blurring out areas of my glasses that expose the background. Hopefully they can really touch up the processing and work out these little things, but otherwise it's pretty great.

Pictures came out pretty nice. Still some distortion around the borders of my pup, but overall good quality. In low light, some of the graininess appears a bit more
