A very picky German But...my replacement phone is perfect (touch wood)

Do you mind taking a picture of your 7 (or 7 plus) (not sure which you have) along side your 6 or 6S? I want to see how perfect it is! So there is absolutely no yellow tint on your 7?

I just bought and picked up my first batch of eight iPhone 7 Plus's a couple days ago, and every single one of them has a yellow tint compared to my 6S, 6, and MacBook Pro with Retina..... I'm upset again because I'll be returning these with not a single good one to keep. So far I've returned 28 iPhone 7's and will be returning 8 iPhone 7 Plus's this week.

Total of 35 phones with yellow tint so far I've purchased. I hope my bad luck ends soon.

They can't ban me. I'll sue Apple then! Hehehehehehhehehe.

But seriously jokes aside, they have been very understanding of the situation and they hope I find my perfect non yellow iPhone one day.

I never had this yellow problem with my 6 or 6S, so I'm hoping there won't be a hunt like this for the iPhone 8 next year.

Definitely a bit frustrating and upsetting that the 7 has this yellow tint with 100% of the phones I've gotten so far.

The i7 has a warmer screen than the cool blue 6S, ergo you will never find a non-yellow one. Sure some are more yellow than others but uniformity appears to be impossible when manufacturing such high volumes.

Not once did you actually realize that it's supposed to be warmer and better calibrated than the 6/6s? That's ridiculous going through all that for no reason. I think you should just move on from the 7. You won't find a 'perfect' one. By the time you find one, the 8 will be out lol.

The screen of my 7+ is indeed a bit warmer than my 6 (I don't have it here at the moment for comparison shot), BUT: there are no yellow tints or unifomities (I can see at least). And I'm very picky. The pinkish tint on my first device bothered me a lot...my husband and other people did not even see it at all!!

I've seen 3 iP 7 and my two 7+ so far...and none of them has been yellow! They all do have a slight warmer touch which is only visible when putting an iP 6 right beside it.

I find my new iPhone 7 Plus display noticeably dimmer and "dingier" than my iPhone 6 Plus display in all lighting situations. I went to exchange and the exchange unit was even dimmer. Currently Apple is "looking into it" and were supposed to get back to me by the end of the week, but I haven't heard back yet.

Generally I like the phone features and speed. Everything else is fantastic I would say. The camera is great. The speed is great. Hey Siri is cool. 3D touch is interesting. The sound quality is great. The new non-mechanical haptic touch home button works great. It's nice that it's water resistant. And it will become unlocked for free after 6 months. It now supports Suica in Japan. Lift to wake is convenient. Almost everything about it I really like so far.

But the fact the screen is not as advertised and is, in fact, dimmer than my iPhone 6 Plus irks me.

You can see more details and my side-by-side photos at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7744754

The thing is, the screen itself it actually quite nice. It looks nice under all circumstances - at home, at night, outside in bright sunlight, etc. If I never had an iPhone 6 Plus I would never have thought twice about it.

But it's the fact that Apple is advertising 25% brighter and more vibrant on their home page that annoys me. And I find myself running back to compare the current screen with my iPhone 6 Plus and, sure enough, the iPhone 6 Plus is brighter and more vibrant under every lighting situation and setting.

I have to admit it's taken away from being able to enjoy the new iPhone and my mind keeps wandering back to it.

I hope Apple has a reasonable answer for me soon.

Hello,

On my iPhone 7 Plus 128GB I have a problem with automatic brightness - is darker about 20-40% than iPhone 6s and 6s Plus on automatic brightness too :(

I restored backup from my old iPhone 6s Plus but I reset phone settings (without loss data)

I find the yellow more noticeable at night/dusk. To compensate, I have figured out how to adjust the color filters. Have to turn them off in the daytime, though. All in all, it's a pain. The 6 Plus screen was better.

I've had similar issues with the iPhone 7 screen, I've tried 3 jet blacks and now on a matte black.

One of the jet blacks had a serial starting with F and the screen was uniform but I was just so dull and yellow, sat side by side with the iPhone 7s in store was like night and day difference.

The other 2 jet blacks and matte black all have serials starting with D and have been less yellow with the matte being the best so far. The big issue with all these 3 phones has been that each has had a pinkish area towards to the top area of the screen which is noticeable especially in lower light and reading text.

I really like the iPhone 7 but the screens I've had so far have just been awful. As they sell so many of these things I guess other people just aren't as bothered about it as me!

At this point I'm pretty fed up with the screen irregularities of the 7. For me the worst thing is that the screen starts to look so yellow at night that it's fatiguing to read. This is not about "night shift," either. So I have to go and set the color filters--a true pain--and then set them back in the day.

Forget it.

Everything except the added thickness weight (over the 6 Plus), which I find noticeable and annoying.
[doublepost=1479822419][/doublepost]
3D touch is interesting

But ultimately forgettable and not worth the price of extra phone weight and thickness to accommodate it.

Yeah, it'll be called iPhone 8 or something.

Don't hold your breath over a solution to what is essentially a "feature." Ugh.

All in all, most 6 Plus users would be better served by saving money and staying put.

Hi guys, did you have the solution for the dim screen in iphone7? I am very disappointed what apple do with the new model and the say that it should be 25% brighter than 6S !!

I got today for my wife the new iphone 7 and the screen is much more darker then in the iphone 6 she have ! Nay, I have also Xiaomi Redmi 3S (200 EUR cell phone) and the screen looks much better and brighter then in the iphone 7 .... I have no words for that

On the left: Iphone 6, on the right Iphone 7. When autobright tourn on - the same

Yup. The iPhone 7 screen hurts my eyes when reading text, especially at night. Sucks, honestly.

Still no reply from Apple. I might have to contact the local consumer affairs agency if they don't help me solve the brightness issue. The advertising on their home page seems to be plain not true.

Don't hold your breath.

Well, they did ask for comparison photos and gave me an email address to send them too and promised to get back. Honestly, if this was the U.S. with the 14-day return policy, I would have done that by now and just waited a year. But here in Japan I can't do anything unless Apple helps me - or if I end up going to the consumer affairs agency.

I'm still hoping that Apple manages to find an iPhone 7 Plus that is as advertised - 25% brighter and more vibrant, etc.

But I'm running out of hope for that because so far I have not been able to find a single person in the world who has personally seen an iPhone 7 Plus that is brighter than an iPhone 6 Plus. Not even Apple staff.

If such a person is out there, please let me know!

Same thing on my JB 7 with the pinkish tinge on the top half. Serial starts with D too. Although mine doesn't seem to be too yellow. It's just a little warmer. It also has some bleed at the bottom of the screen that causes a brighter glow band that stretches across the bottom above the home button and you notice it scrolling text as the text gets brighter as it scrolls by. Very annoying!

I think I'll hold on to this one for a year and maybe try to replace and see if the displays have changed/improved because it looks like whoever is doing the manufacturing right now has poor quality control. And it's been like this for 3 years now so I'm not holding my breath!

Yeah, I've lived abroad and understand that customer service/return policies are usually never as liberal as they are in the U.S. But yeah, I'm giving up on the iPhone 7. Too many problems for too little upside over my 2-year-old 6 Plus.

The brightness thing is the least of my quibbles, since I rarely use the phone at even half brightness.

Apple called back. The end conclusion is that Apple says it it "normal" for the iPhone 7 Plus and they refuse to assist anymore. I can't tell you how much, after all these years, I am disappointed with Apple. They are out and out false advertising.

I wonder what my options are. I can try to contact the consumer affairs agency.

At the moment I'm so upset I feel like leaving the entire Apple system.
