I’ve exchanged 4 times. It’s not worth it. The one I have now is probably the best of the bunch.Thats bad i would exchange it
I went through 3 6s and 2 7s but still didnt find a decent display.
Got a SE. The rattling just gets to me.
Here is my MacBook Pro Retina. It drove me crazy and went through a bunch of exchanges but after a while i stopped focusing on the issue I did not notice it anymore. I am hoping this is the same case with the phone. I can’t keep making exchanges for the 1 in a million shot I get a good one. I’m am going to stick with the phone in the first picture

How did you test the MBP screen like that? That thing looks like a freaking rainbow.
Which of these is closer to being correct?
I don’t get how they can advertise how accurate the colour is but the 2 displays can be that different.

I had the original iPhone 2G and had to get a replacement due to the “dead strip” issue where a part of the screen didn’t respond to touch. The next new phone I got was the 4. After a while, I turned on the replacement 2G again and was astounded by how far it was tuned toward magenta. The damn thing was red but I never noticed it while using it until I got the 4.
It’s a funny situation. I’ve had the 4, 5 and 6 and I haven’t noticed anything off aside from a very slight difference between cool and warm. But I haven’t compared them to anything else. I’m typing this on my iPad 2017, which seems to be fine.
I think it boils down to when you’re looking for a problem, you’ll find it. Even if it’s minor. If you’re not scrutinizing, you likely won’t see it unless it’s severe.
Having said all that, Apple screens generally suck based on user experience I’ve read about.

Thing is This is a good take. I think if, like me, you notice an issue with the first phone, you’re going to scrutinize the replacement ec.
Thing is, I never noticed an issue before and I have owned the 4, 4S, 5, 5S and 6 Plus and never had an issue. I noticed issues with my first 8 Plus the second I started using it.
I've noticed a softness along one or more edges in the past, and differences in color temp from device to device, but never as much of a difference of temp from one side to the other as I had on my 8+.
I say "had" because I just returned it before my 14 days was up. As was mentioned above, I was cruising right along with new phone and then I came across one of these screen threads. That got me looking and then it was all over. The size and expense and dated design all started outweighing the positives (great performance, wireless, etc) in light of the screen defects I couldn't un-see.
I found a new 128gb 7 on eBay for close to half the price of an 8. I guess that was really me just trying to find the minimum viable iOS phone for me. The 8 Plus just wasn't good enough if it wasn't perfect. I think with my screen OCD, buying from somewhere with no return policy could actually be a good thing as well. If this 7 comes and has some of the admittedly minor "defects" that my 8+ had, I'll just have to get over it.
EDIT: The point about scrutinizing all the devices after the first one is spot on too. That's the reason I just returned without exchanging. I knew from past experience that I would just start a stupid cycle of getting a new one, exchanging, new one, etc.
8 Plus, I think I am having a similar issue where the display near the bottom (when holding in portrait mode) is slightly, slightly, slightly darker than the rest of the screen, I cannot tell for sure if it's an optical illusion or if I'm seeing things or what, but putting a complete white image on the screen and rotating the phone around, it looks like the LCD is not as smoothly attached to the screen near the bottom as it is at the top.
Other than that the display is perfect, I'm going to have some friends look at it before I decide to exchange it, since I am well within the 14-day return period.
It's so unnoticeable I don't think you can really see it in a picture, and to most folks it may look normal, but since I've seen it I can't "unsee" it. Or maybe I'm losing my mind.
Looks Perfect.Guys, what do you think about my 6S screen evenness? Is it ok?

I agree its looks pretty good.Looks Perfect.
Please do update when you get the 128GB 7. I am in the same boat as you. I gave my 7 to my dad because I just couldnt deal with the screen tint uneveness and before that I gave my 6S to my mom for the same reasons. I am currently with using a Redmi 4X which has such a perfectly even screen that it surprises me that apple cant get it right. I am about to order a 128GB 7 tomorrow. Lets see how it goes.
Got my 7 today. It does seem to in fact be new, so it was a pretty good deal. The screen is about like my 8+, so not perfect. Little more yellowing toward the bottom and then same softer line at the bottom edge. As I said in my original comment, the thing that did in fact help is that I know I can't return it. Amazing how that really stopped me obsessing about it. Go figure...
I think the 7 will be though. It's not noticeably slower than the 8+ and I think in the final analysis the + was probably a bit bigger than I would have been comfortable with long term.
I had it in mind to move to the X with the thought that the OLED screens would be more consistent. Having said that I looked at some S8s, which should have screens that are just as nice, and I was immediately reminded of all the color aberration and unevenness you have to contend with on OLED screens too.
I'm just using my 7 now and if I'm still thinking about it in a couple of months I'll take it to the Apple store. In landscape, on a white background, you can definitely see yellowing on the button side of the phone. If I do go to the Apple store I'm going to really just ask them to look at it and tell me if they think it's acceptable.
Yes, I can see it. You should take it to the Apple Store and maybe have swapped for a new one.I have seen threads on this for previous Plus models, but have not seen one for the 8+.
My 8 plus screen brightness / colour changes from left to right as phone stands in portrait orientation. Left side is brighter/yellow and 1-2cm of right side is darker/bluer.
It's not extremely bad, but I am noticing it when reading text from left to right and is distracting.
I had this previously on an iPad Air gen 1 and replaced and the replacement was better, almost perfect.
First, is anyone else seeing this?
Second, what's the opinion, is it worth swapping this one out? I'm trying to gauge the likelihood of a better screen on replacement.
Thanks
Edit: I've uploaded a photo. As always, it's hard to show issues like these in a photo but you can see it slightly towards the right.
