Ah, then there's the rub. If I'm going to be using a Mini, I might as well just continue to use the 2009 Mac Pro I am typing this message on. :D

Minis are great of course, I own five (3x 2006 models and 2x 2009 models), but I prefer towers.

And distractions really aren't my issue. I'm quite capable of ignoring people or things (such as messages/notifications) when I need/want to focus on something.
Mac Pros work great too. :) It isn’t so much notifications, as I ignore them anyways. It is more getting stuck scrolling on here or playing games out of habit lol.

It depends on what you mean by main device. If it's the one you spend most time one then I think it's natural that it'll be your phone unless you work on your Mac. When I need to do stuff other than browse the web or send texts then my computer will always be the most vital gadget for me.

I've recently downsized to just an iPhone and MacBook Air (used to have a desktop Windows PC and iPad also); due to very constrained living space and just wanting to minimalise my life and possessions. No external monitor but I do use a Magic Keyboard and Mouse when using the laptop at my desk (saves wear on the laptop keyboard). I still need the laptop for tasks such as maintaining my website and the full capabilities of macOS generally. The iPhone is excellent as a multipurpose device for most other tasks.

Interesting tread.

I replaced my MacBook with my phone around 2017. Have only used my phone since though I have another MacBook from work which I very occasionally use for stuff like taxes or booking extensive travel.

Now I am trying to replace my iPhone with my Apple Watch as a main device and have the iPhone be the sidekick. Too bad Siri + ChatGPT only works on the iPhone itself, otherwise it would make it much easier.
Cool! May I ask what you do for work? I suspect something hands on, maybe in nature, so a (phone)screen isn’t needed.

When I was a paramedic I was nearly phone only, but needed my MacBook (Air 11“, loved it) for uni.

I found I can also pair and use my old 2012 Apple Wireless Keyboard with my iPhone, so I can prop the phone on a cushion and type quite comfortably! Just can’t do web development with iOS, though (edit my website locally and FTP it).
